“The influence of the Internet on the lives of today's youth”

I. INTRODUCTION
A. Background information
- The Internet (electronic network) is a huge information channel, an effective
means of people in life.
- The Internet is a world of knowledge, a diverse and attractive world of
entertainment, especially for the young generation.
- The Internet also has negative sides, hidden dangers if people use it not for
practical and good purposes.
B.Thesis statement:
- Currently, many people ask the question: Internet - virtual world or real? How are
our choices and bravery?

II. THE ROLE OF THE INTERNET IN OUR LIVES.

A. Positive role
- It is an indispensable part of every person in today's life.
- A massive encyclopedia.
- A means of knowledge exchange on a global scale.
- An entertainment world, a means of exchanging feelings with friends and
relatives.
- The Internet has a great influence on all areas of human life (information,
culture, economy, politics, education...)
B. Negative role
- The Internet includes bad information to watch out for such as: dark web sites
that incite violence, spread unhealthy lifestyles, scams ..., can be considered as
"drugs" on the internet.
- Online games: interesting entertainment, but if fall into the virtual world, it will
consume a lot of time, health, money,....
- Online communication: email, facebook, zalo ...
- But if abused, it will take a lot of time, energy and wisdom, causing
misunderstandings because of the long distance between the virtual and the real,
especially in the field of love.
C. Assessment of the current situation
- The audience uses the Internet a lot. From government, to businesses all use the
Internet every day. Even housewives and retired old people make friends with the
Internet.
- The largest users are still students, students, office staff...
- People using it to expand knowledge, improve work quality is only about 47%.
- People using it for other purposes: games, chatting... accounted for 53%
(According to the statistics of Nielsen branch in Vietnam). This can easily lead to
bad consequences for individuals and society in many ways.
- Need to manage well the content of Internet .

III. CONCLUSION
A. Thesis: Internet - virtual world or real? How are our choices and bravery?
B. Prediction
- The Internet brings a lot of benefits to people. Whoever masters it, life will
become very easy and convenient.
- Good means but bad methods of use inevitably lead to bad consequences. Users
will create invisible barriers to their own progress.
- Youth needs to equip themselves with a certain level of understanding and
bravery to exploit and use the treasure of human knowledge.
