    Dear Ms Stuart,
    Account No. VS 301632
    Thank you for your letters of 25 March and 28 April regarding the delay in setting
    your account with you.
    Unfortunately, a recent fire at our Head Office has destroyed a great deal of our
    computer data, with the result that all correspondence with both suplliers and
    customer has been disrupted . I am afraid that we will need time to return to our
    normal routine .
    Would it be possible for you to allow us a further 30 days to settle ? By that time
    our insurance company will have released compensation , and we can pay the
    outstanding amount in full.
    I would be most grateful if you could allow us this extra time.
