PREVIOUS CONTEXT
During the last couple of months, the
bird app has seen quite a few changes
in the way it works, and the reason
behind those changes is far from
unknown. The company was bought
by the well known tech entrepreneur
Elon Musk on October 27th of the past
year, for a whopping amount of 44
billion dollars. Since then, several
features have been suggested and
implemented, with varying degrees of
success.
MANAGEMENT AND CONTROVERSY
One of the main policies of Twitter’s new
management is abogating for freedom of
expression, and several measures have
already been taken towards this goal. For
example, lot’s of users were unbanned
when Musk took over the company, and the
community now has real input in some of
the decisions taken.

On the other hand, we have the


controversial Twitter blue, wich allowed any
user to get a verified account for 8 $/month,
and has lead to a lot of discussion online. It CONCLUSSION
offered little to no real benefit, and there Considering all this, I think that we can
are more than one reported case of confidently say that the negative
impersonation while taking advantage of consequences of this new management
this service. outweigh it’s positive effects, both from
a consumer and a business perspective.
Many discontent users have
protagonized a massive exodus from the
platform, and we have started to see the
consequences. The most notable ones
being how the community has divided
itself, and political and ideological
arguments and discussions are at it’s
highest point.
