III. PROCEDURES
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

1. Greetings and Prayer

*Good morning class!

I am ma’am Aljohaila B. Gulam *Good morning ma’am.
and I will be your teacher for
today’s lesson. How are you today
class?
*Before we start, may we stand up
and put ourselves in the presence
of God. May I request _______ to
lead the prayer.
*amen.
*You may now take your seat.
*Thank you ma’am.
2. Checking of Attendance

*As I call your name, raise your right hand

and say present.

3. Settings of Class Standards

*Class what will you do if the class is
**We will listen attentively and
going on? participate in all activities.

*What are you going to do if you have

any questions or you want to answer a *If we have any questions or we want to answer
question? a question, we will raise our right hand.

*Okay, Very good!

4. Review

What is our lesson last meeting?

*Geometric Sequence and Series.
*Very good

What is Geometric Sequence? *Geometric Sequence is __________

*Very good

What is Common ratio? *Common ratio is ___________

*Very good
B. LESSON PROPER
1. Motivation
Title of the activity: “BROKEN HEART”

Instruction: The teacher will call 5 boys and 5

girls to stand in front of the class. She will give
IV. the broken heart to the 10 students. The girls are
holding the quadratic equation and they will find
the factors on the boys to make it complete heart.
*Are you ready class? *Yes ma’am!
Quadratic Expression Factors
x 2+ 7 x +12 (x +4 )( x+3)
2
x − 7 x +10 (x − 5)(x −2)

x 2+ 9 x+10 (x +10)( x −1)

2
x −9 (x − 3)(x+3)

x 2 −4 (x +2)( x −2)

*What did you observe in our activity?

*Answer may vary

2. Reading of the objectives At the end of 60-munites lesson, the learners are
able to:
*Everybody, kindly read our objectives. a. Factors polynomials
b. Illustrate polynomial equation
c. Solve problems involving
polynomial equation
a. Presentation of the lesson
-This morning, we will discuss about factors
polynomial.
Factoring polynomial expression:
-In factoring a polynomial by using
synthetic division, remainder theorem,
and remainder theorem you are basically
looking for r such that P(r) =0 so that you
can apply the factor theorem, you are
basically looking of P(x). But how do
you get the value of r? You have to do a
“guess and check”for now. For this
lesson, if the leading coefficient is one,
then the candidates for r will be factors of
the constant term. However, in the next
lesson, you can utilize the rational root
theorem to guide you choosing what
number to try out for the values of r.
Example:
Factor x 2+ 7 x +¿ 6
Method 1: Factoring by synthetic division and
factor theorem.
1 0 -7 6 ⌊ 2¿ ¿
2 4 -6
______________________
1 2 -3 0 =P(r)= R

1 2 -3 ⌊ −1 ¿ ¿
1 -3
__________________
1 3 0 =P(r)= R
