China Copper Mines Limited is located in Fitula Mimbula, Chingola Town, Copperbelt Province and
is currently looking for candidates with good time management skills for the position of Tipper truck
driver, Excavator Operator, Loader Operator, Driller and Dump spotter who will be responsible for
the safe, efficient and productive hauling of material as may be assigned during operations.

China Copper Mines is hiring the following of number positions to be deployed.

o Job type: Full-Time

o 1) Job title: Tipper Truck Driver
Responsibilities:

o Drive assigned tucks and avoid spillage on the mine roads during operation.
o Maintain the tyres for the trucks by not running over spillages during operations.
o Ensure the checklist is completed and submitted.
o Ensure good house-keeping.
o Follow operating manuals and general signage.
o Report needed repairs to PIC.
o Follow correct instructions from the respective PIC and laid down procedure.
o Perform any other duties be assigned by the PIC.
Requirements:

o A valid driver’s license with C or CE

o Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience
o No criminal record
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Grade 12 certificate.

o 2)Job title: Excavator Operator

Responsibilities:
o Ensure that the loading on trucks is correct, no over-load and no under-load, in a safe and
productive manner as per operating standards.
o Ensure that the bench where the excavator is sitting on is levelled.
o Maintains safe and clean working area of loading bays.
o Ensure the checklist is completed and submitted.
o Work safely in trenches and on excavation sites.
o Ensure good house-keeping.
o Follow operating manuals and general signage.
o Completes correct pre-start checks and correct start up procedure on excavator.
o Report needed repairs to PIC.
o Follow correct instructions from the respective PIC and laid down procedure.
o Perform any other duties to be assigned by the PIC.
Requirements:
o Competence Certificate in Excavators
o 1 year of experience operating large wheel loaders in a surface mining environment
o No criminal record
o Experience in a Mining environment.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Grade 12 certificate.
o Curriculum vitae.

o Valid silicosis.

o 3)Job title: Loader Operator

Responsibilities:

o Operate Loader safely and efficiently in accordance with training and PIC’s instruction..
o Conduct pre-driving safety inspections.
o Maintain loader in good condition with reporting and logging requirements.
o Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements.
o Report needed repairs to PIC.
o Follow correct instructions from the respective PIC and laid down procedure.
o Perform any other duties be assigned by the PIC.
Requirements:

o Competence Certificate in Loader.

o 1 year of experience operating wheel loaders in mining environment
o Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Grade 12 certificate.

o 4)_Job title: Drill Operators – Exploration Drill Rig

. Responsibilities:

o Select and attach drill bits and drill rods, adding more rods as hole depths increase, and changing
drill bits as needed.
o Perform routine maintenance and upgrade work on machines and equipment, such as building up
drill bits and lubricating machinery and identify and accurately report faults, defects, and damages
on the machine to supervisor or mechanic.
o Operate controls to stabilize machines and to position and align drills.
o Regulate air pressure, rotary speed, and downward pressure, according to the type of rock or
concrete being drilled.
o Operate machines to flush earth cuttings or to blow dust from holes.
o Assemble and position machines, augers, casing pipes, and other equipment, using hand and power
tools.
o Drill or bore holes in rock for blasting, grouting, anchoring, or building foundations.
o Verify depths and alignments of boring positions.
o Start, stop, and control drilling speed of machines and insertion of casings into holes.
o Record drilling progress and geological data.
o Drive trucks, tractors, or truck-mounted drills to and from work sites.
o Select the appropriate drill for the job, using knowledge of rock or soil conditions.
o Monitor drilling operations, checking gauges, and listening to equipment to assess drilling
conditions and to determine the need to adjust drilling or alter equipment.
o Retrieve lost equipment from bore holes, using retrieval tools and equipment.
o Follow correct instructions from the respective PIC and laid down procedure.
o Perform any other duties assigned by the PIC.
Requirements:

o Certificate of competence in drill operations.

o Minimum of 2 years’ experience in drilling operations.
o No criminal record.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Age between 25-45.

o 5)Job title: Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

o Conduct on-site induction training for employees and contractors, and conduct other trainings
as needed.
o Assist in providing on-site emergency services and training exercises. Conduct hazard, risk
assessment and random alcohol screening in the workplace.
o Maintain all safety, training, health, and medical records in accordance with established
procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and privacy.
o Monitor and review incidents and review recurring incidents and assist in the development and
implementation of remedial measures. Participate in all incident investigations and identify
areas for improvement and ensure that relevant alerts are sent for dissemination.
o Make sure to log all incidents and update daily safety reports. Ensure that all non-conformities
are identified, action is taken, and closure is completed.
o Together with the local supervisor, conduct informal daily and regular formal safety inspections
of all areas within the scope of the work site.
Requirements:

o Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment

o 3 Years’ experience as a safety officer in mining environment.
o Must be willing to work shifts, standby and overtime when necessary.
o Able to understand company procedures, mining regulatory guidelines and other Zambian laws.
o High regard and commitment to safe work practices
