RE: REQUEST FOR SITE VISIT PERMISSION

We write to request your office to kindly allow us to visit the following waste treatment plant
sites: Limbe, Zingwangwa and Manase to appreciate how Blantyre City Council is treating
wastes so that we are able to manage the waste our Company generates.

Speedy’s Food Industries Limited’s main operations is poultry farming. We keep four hundred
and fifty thousand layers’ chickens (450,000) and one hundred and forty thousand grower’s
chickens (140,000) which add up to five hundred and nighty thousand chickens (590,000) at a
time. As such, speedy’s generates both solid and liquid wastes which needs proper disposal to
avoid polluting the environment.

It is against this background that speedy’s Food Industries limited wants to construct oxidation
ponds and dry beds to manage the wastes it generates, hence the need to visit and appreciate the
aforementioned waste treatment plants. If possible, we would like to visit the sites on 21st
November, 2022 from 9:00 am.
