Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the research design, the

respondents of the study, and the locale of the study,

research instrument, validity and reliability of the

instrument, the data gathering procedure, data analysis and

statistical tool use in the study.

Research Design

The descriptive research design was utilized in this

study. According to Hassan (2022), descriptive research

design is a type of research methodology that aims to

describe or document the characteristics, behaviors,

attitudes, opinions, or perceptions of a group or population

being studied.

Descriptive research design does not attempt to

establish cause-and-effect relationships between variables

or make predictions about future outcomes. Instead, it

focuses on providing a detailed and accurate representation

of the data collected, which can be useful for generating

hypotheses, exploring trends, and identifying patterns in

the data (Hassan, 2022).

The questionnaire used in this was adopted from the

study of Bilog F. E. (2014) entitled “Implementation of the

Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006 (RA 9344): Inputs

to Policy Amendments”.

The questionnaire was divided into two parts. The fist

part centered on the respondent's demographics profile,

while the second part determines the problems encountered in

the implementation of Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of

2006 (RA 9344) in the Province of Guimaras.

Data Analysis Procedure

After obtaining the validity and reliability of the

instrument, the researcher obtained approval from the proper

offices through letters. The researchers personally

administered the questionnaire to the respondents.

The data gathered were then tallied, tabulated,

subjected to analysis and interpreted.
