Connect to Social Networks

Write an essay about what you have achieved after the lesson
The second online lesson on elearning has ended, and after I had watching all the videos
and lecture slides with transcript, I have learned a lot of new knowledge about the topic
connect to social networks, which have an important role nowaday.
First of all, as last time I have derived the definition and what is social network from part
of the previous lesson and through the statistics that show its influence. Social networks are
a place for us to share photos, videos, make friends, chat,... Also play a huge role like in
meeting and interacting with new people, sharing common interests through social
networks. group, job search, start-up, product promotion, especially it's easy to use and it's
free. And social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube,... show more and more
importance place when every year the numbers of people using and knowing is increasing
significantly.
The next thing that I learned was about each type of social network, their purpose and
application in work. For example, when it comes to the type of social network used to
connect with society and people, we will often mention Facebook, it brings beautiful
moments when we are connected and shared with friends and family. Or multimedia
sharing we know like Youtube is used to share content related to videos, photos and
streaming. The next type is the typical professional network mentioned as Likedln that helps
us find jobs, connect businesses and job seekers together or share to spread to many
people. In the field of education we can mention such as elearning, using forums for
students to exchange and work with others to perform assignment which easy to sharing
and discussion. Finally, the last is academic type, which helps researchers exchange
knowledge and results with each other, supporting work like ResearchGate.
The last one I studied and wanted to talk about was sorting out potential dangers online
or like people stealing our contents and money. The first session is cyber bullying and
criminals, the majority of which influence internet users the most. Next are the identity
thieves and online fraudsters who specialize in targeting easy-going people. Next is the
problem that it will waste a lots of our times, social networks easily attract us so we will
often spend more time experiencing it more. There is also the risk of invading the privacy of
a company or business, once we join such a place it is understandable that personal
information will be exposed. It also contributes to reducing our ability to think and
understand problems when we are too focused on social networks and do not pay attention
to external things. It is also easy to distract us and lose focus on work or school or even daily
life, making everything even more depressing. Equally devastating is that it can lead young
people to alcohol and drugs when social media is full of things that fascinate them.
Moreover, it also detracts from their studies, spending too much time on social media
makes them ready to use it in class, so it is easy to lack knowledge. Authenticity is also a big
risk because a lot of good articles share false information, causing us to think wrong about
them. More seriously, we have the problem of social isolation when relying on social
networks too much, they can't get out and indulge in addiction without paying attention to
how society is outside. In the end it makes them poor in language and grammar, affected by
“net-speak”, using teencode to contact people that they can't understand and can't help,
especially young people they will try to shorten them without knowing its origin word.
In conclusion, social media has both good side and many dangers, after the second
online lesson I had understand more about what I using every day and will try to avoid the
these harms and shares it to everyone to create a friendly and healthy social network.
