At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:

a. Identify how to subtract one-digit numbers with minuends through 18


b. Know how to subtract one to two-digit numbers with minuends up to 99
with and without regrouping
c. Apply mathematics in their daily life

A. Preparation
1. Review

There are 5 flowers in the garden Louis pick 2 to give to her mother, how many
flowers are left?

B. Presentation
 What is minuend?
- quantity or number from which another is to be subtracted.
•What is Subtrahend?
- a quantity or number to be subtracted from another.
 What is the difference?
- is the result of subtracting one from another.

1. Ken is holding 18 balloons. 3 balloons fly away. How many balloons


are left?
2. Ana has 19 apples in her basket. She picks 4 and eats them. Now,
