THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

The Covid-19 pandemic has put the educational system through unprecedented

hardships, especially for junior high school students. As a result, many schools have

switched to Home-based instruction, which has put a heavy responsibility on parents to

support their children's academic growth and learning. So, it is crucial to evaluate the

parental supervision given to these students in order to comprehend how parental

guidance affected the students performance throughout the pandemic at home-based

education. This activity intends to address the problem of the students of The Mabini

Academy during the Covid-19. The reason to adress the problems due to the lockdowns

have put us in a unprecedented challenge on school be continuity of learning (Chang &

Yano, 2020). The level of parental guidance can be affected by the education of the

children. Also, for the process of learning to become successful, a positive relationship

between Teachers and parents must be developed. The assessment of parental guidance is

crucial for identifying the elements that lead to student progress in the context of home-

based education during the COVID-19 epidemic. Parents have an important role in

assisting their children's development, especially during this time when traditional

classroom instruction is disturbed.
