I chose to do horror.
Which genre did you select?
- Horror

- Superhero I chose to do this because I felt for myself this was an easier option to do,
also as this genre is the type I watch more in my free time.
Why did you select this?
I chose the DVD cover.
What was the first product you
selected?
EG I chose this because in past course level one media and this course I am
- Teaser Trailer on level two, I found myself working better on photoshop and knowing
- DVD Cover my way around the app. I also chose this as I don’t have good time
- Billboard Poster management when it comes to editing the work, I have to do I don’t
spread my time out well enough.

information I needed to complete this side of my work was that . Another
research that I found really helpful was the colour theory and codes and
conventions this really helped me towards both my DVD poster and my
teaser poster as I knew what was eye catching and understanding to the
genre I chose, as in for my posters I included the colour red this is because
red is a colour that makes you think of danger and blood as these colours
matched up really well with my poster.

PART TWO: PLANNING
The techniques that I used for my final major project were researching
other horror films or tv, about their synopsis and DVD posters and posters
of the promotion of the show or film to collect ideas for my final major
project.
The element of planning that was most useful for me were finding images
that I liked to use of my DVD poster and the fonts were easy to look for.
I stuck to my statement of aims quite closely, the only things I did change
was the names of a few people and when my statement of aims a was
given back to me with feedback.
I did have some feedback to where I was given, I shortened down version
of my synopsis that also made more sense by my teacher.
When designing my final design for my final major project the audience I
had in mind was that anyone that enjoyed horror as that is what my
project was based on. Also, I had in mind was people aged filthen and
over. I didn’t really have a gender in mind that I was basing my film over I
think my Final major project is for anyone.
The final designs helped to show the target audience by the use of colour
theory, with this being used you can see from my DVD cover and teaser
poster the audience it is based for and who it’s reaching too. With this
you can understand that they are both horror themed.
My final designs help to communicate to the target audience is that I
intend to reach because of I included colours and ideas I’ve collected from
other film posters I looked at before making my own.
Technical skills that I have now improved during my FMP were that even
though I knew how to use photoshop previous to making my FMP I did
improve from when I goy to my teaser poster I worked quicker on it than
others cause I remembered were everything was and how to do the work.

PART FOUR: AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
The number of responses I got were six
“The movie poster stands out so much and catches your eye because of
the glow on the dark background also the font on both works go really
well with the theme.
On the DVD cover the idea is really good with the title being the illusion,
the glows on the text are a really nice touch and makes the text stand out,
the only thing I’d say is the puppet thingy on the front cover it could
stand out a little bit more as it blends in with the trees a little bit.”
This is the most valuable as it gives the most feedback on my DVD and
teaser poster.
Around four people said they would watch the film but other than that no
other explanation was added to what they said. This would be the least
valuable response to me as though I did find out that these four would
watch it I was then left with two responses the did explain to why they
liked it but that isn’t much.
Yes everyone I asked said they’d watch it , so from that I think the people I
asked liked my designs.
“It’s a genre I really like and it’s a mystery – I love mysteries!!!”
I think this is relevant as that she knew what the shortened synopsis said
from the back of the DVD cover, this is also a relevant answer as my film is
about a mystery that is to be found out.
Yes with the feedback that I received everyone said they’d watch the film.

PART FIVE: FINAL THOUGHTS
I think one of my challenges are Time as I spend to much time on one
part than leaving enough time for anything else.
I overcame problems by asking for help when I needed this is an
achievement as I used to sit around without asking when I needed help.
Another achievement would be that with my time from level one in
comparison to this year would be so much more improved as I did focus a
lot more on the tracking sheets that we got to look at. I also stayed over
times at the end of the day to complete more work.
I think the parts of my FMP that worked well was the practical tasks as the
end results were good and that I knew more to add to the DVD cover and
the teaser poster that I created.
Something I would do differently would be to do the social media post as
well as the DVD cover and the teaser poster. If I did this as well I think I
would have a better final result at the end of the FMP.
