Studies abroad: pros and cons

Today more and more young people are searching for better studying
opportunities. That’s why people emigrate to other countries, because of the
low educational opportunities in their countries.
Studying abroad is a controversial topic around the world. Those who are in
favour of studying abroad claim that you can have a better job payment when
during and after studying. For example here in Lithuania people with a medical
degree don’t get paid a lot when taking care of unhealthy people, while in
other countries they get a stable payment for their jobs. Moreover whilst in a
foreign country why not learn a new language or two? In most cases people
who study abroad learn new languages and in a couple of years can fluently
speak the local language.
On the other hand, those who are against studying abroad state the fact that
leaving your family to take care for themselves isn’t a good idea. When most
people leave their parents, they rarely come back to visit them. It’s even a
sadder thing that while being abroad you can get homesick of your old friends.
Another disadvantage is that most young people don’t really have enough
money to sustain a life abroad so they usually work overtime just to finish their
studies.
In conclusion, although there are two sides to a coin, I believe that studying
abroad isn’t a bad thing when your country doesn’t have the right educational
opportunities. In my opinion, countries should try to improve their state of
education and attract people to stay in their homelands.
