The Capstone strand I have chosen is Project Strand

Proposed title for my Project Proposal: (write the proposed title for your Capstone Project in one clearsentence ):

Research and develop my own vocal skills, and create a video platform for others to learn to sing easily

What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that connects with a
purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that you cannot just google an answer for.
Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is: If I can't use what I learned from choir classes and what other people's lectures are already
on YouTube, what format and subject should I make for my own vocal lecture videos?

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are choosing to investigate this
topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal
interest to you?
Because I can't use the knowledge I learned in the choir and I have to make a completely new video of my own
lecture, I have to understand and research the skills and vocals I use when I sing. This will be a big challenge for me
and I will have to put a lot of effort into it. It will also help me understand my limitations and the skills I have. I look
forward to uploading my skills through this, and I look forward to making great videos because it has been my interest
in making YouTube videos since I was young.

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this area of inquiry?

I have the some vocal technique knowledges that I’ve learned by taking concert & chamber choir for a year and a half and
had church singing team but since these are not available because they were existing ones, I need to study my singing skills
that I had while singing a song, and I need to find something to fix here.

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does this inquiry question
have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

I don’t have a specific career goals but through this project, I want to get a chance to develop my vocal techniques by
building and testing my own vocal skills, and by making vocal lecture videos, I want to develop my transferable skills like
communications, and creativity. It will help me gain a skill to describe my opinion and my knowledge that other individuals
can clearly understand, and creative thinking to get a creative skill for making a project, I also want to be able to get more
musical knowledge through this project since I have interest in the music and my future job may related to this..

Interdisciplinary and core competencies connections: What subject areas and core competencies will be connected
with your project? Outline and explain the connections.

First of all, I'm making my own new lesson, so I need creativity in the content and structure of the lesson, and I need to
continue to check my project using critical thinking and make sure that what I want is conveyed to people well.

Capstone Presentation medium: select one or more project mediums you wish to use to present your project. Outline and
give details about how you will present your project once completed. You may use a combination of mediums.
o
o Electronic portfolio: Prezi or PPT
o Physical portfolio
o Website
o imovie presentation
o YouTube channel

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what will you research, create,
study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page
description outlining your proposal.

Resources/ Technology/Skills: Make an assessment of the resources, technology and skills you will need to be able to
complete this project. What is your plan to be able to access/learn all of the resources necessary to achieve completion of
this project? Detail your plans.

The things I need physically are camera, microphone, background, etc., and what I need is editing skills, video shooting
skills, and vocal skills. I think editing skills and communication skills are the most important, and the reason is that
communication is good only when communication is smooth, and even if you communicate well, if the video is not very
interesting, the interest will decrease.

Mentors/Community Connections: What types of mentor(s)/community connections will you need to help you complete
your capstone project? How will your mentor(s) help you? What is your plan to access the mentorship/community
connections necessary for this project?

I have to understand vocals well and I shouldn't convey wrong information, so I think I need to find a mentor who has been a
vocal instructor or understands vocals well, and it would be nice to find an additional mentor who does music or has
knowledge about editing.

Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee that might affect progress
with your Capstone Project?

Finding a mentor seems to be the biggest problem. It's only been a year since I came to Vancouver, so I don't know many
people and communication can be difficult due to language barriers. It will also take a lot of time to study and study vocals,
so this can also be an obstacle.

Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about your project that you feel should
be included in your project proposal.

It will also be important to check the equipment and other people's videos. If the shooting is done with a bad camera, the
reliability and quality will be poor. If so, a good project can't come out. It's also important to check other people's videos
because you can learn editing techniques, shooting techniques, vocal skills, etc. by watching other people's videos, and
there should be no overlaps to create your own original project.

References: Provide a literature review of 5-10 PEER REVIEWED ACADEMIC references: research, videos, etc. that offer
some preliminary research you have done for your project that shows you are able to access the key information that you
will need to be able to complete this project/work. Your list should be written using correct APA formatting.
