3. CLO 3 – Develop instructional technology lessons by using the instructional design


model and educational technology media (A4)

ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE

The objective of this assignment is to enable you to develop a good understanding of the
theoretical and practical perspectives of instructional technology.

INSTRUCTIONS
This course assignment consists of THREE (3) questions. Answer ALL questions.

QUESTION 1 (40%)

Designing a Lesson in the Google Classroom


This assignment question requires you to design a lesson based on the ASSURE Instructional
Design Model in a Google Classroom platform. You are not required to get students to
participate in your lesson.
Word limit is not applicable as this assignment will have many images. Limit the page
numbers: 8 - 10 pages.

This question has THREE (3) parts. The following steps will guide you:
a) Part I: ASSURE Instructional Design Model
1. Describe the steps in the ASSURE Instructional Design Model.
2. Refer to Part I in Appendix A.

b) Part II: Apply ASSURE Instructional Design to design a lesson in Google Classroom
1. Create the Google Classroom (search YouTube videos to learn how to create Google Class
in Google Classroom).
2. Apply the ASSURE Instructional Design Model to design and develop your lesson in Google
Classroom.
3. Choose a lesson and provide the lesson topic and brief details. Include the screenshot of
the lesson’s title in the Google Classroom (not Google Meet).
4. Analyse the learners. Explain how the learners were analysed.
5. State the goals and objectives. Provide learning outcomes of your lesson based on the
ABCD format and Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning Domain. (Refer to Topic 7). Include the
screenshot of the learning outcomes in the Google Classroom.
6. Select Method, Material and Media. Explain the teaching methods/strategies and types of
materials and media you will use to teach the lesson. Include screenshots of the materials
and media links in the Google Classroom.
7. Utilise material, media and technology. Explain how the material, media and technology
will be used for teaching and learning.
8. Require Learner Participation. Explain how the learners will be engaged and involved in
the learning through the material, media and technology. Include screenshots of the
materials, media and technology links in the Google Classroom that will be used for
learners’ engagement.

9. Evaluate and Revise. Explain how the learners, teachers and content will be evaluated and
revised. Include screenshots of the materials links in the Google Classroom that will be
used for evaluation and revision.
10. Refer to Part II in Appendix A. Please ensure that the images are clearly shown and not
too small (preferably 3-4 images per page).

c) Part III: Benefits of using the ASSURE Instructional Design Model


1. Describe “How were each of the ASSURE Instructional Design Model steps useful in
designing your lesson?”
2. The benefits should be about your lesson and not general.
3. Refer to Part III in Appendix A.
