shown below for calculation.

3.0 FABRICATION AND ERECTION OF CARBON STEEL MATERIAL:

3.1 Carbon steel structural support fabrication and replacement

Carbon steel cone hood above package boiler chimney has severely corroded and needs
replacement. Fabrication is required as per attached drawing by cutting / rolling/bending from the
given MS sheet. This includes cutting / dismantling of existing cone hood from top of stack to dump
yard, fit up, welding and erection of newly fabricated and painted cone hood to the top of chimney,
replacement of any channel, angle, supports, monkey ladder, handrails etc by new one. For the
structural support fabrication for the carbon steel materials budgetary offers were received by two
local contractors namely M/s. J K Engineers, Kalpakkam and M/s. Rambhal. Sadras,Kalpakkam.

Unit rate quoted by M/s. Rambhal. Sadras, Kalpakkam = Rs. 53/ kg

Unit rate quoted by M/s., M/s. J K Engineers, Kalpakkam = Rs. 52/ kg

Hence estimated unit rate for the carbon steel structural support fabrication is Rs.56 /kg
considering the previous work order.
