Good morning my name is Jhoan Esteban Martínez Escobar, Today I talk to you about termal floors.

In Colombia, we find the so-called thermal floors.


These can be defined as zones where the height above sea level affects the temperature.
There are a different thermal floor every 1,000 meters above sea level. There are 5 thermal floors in Colombia
which are warm, temperate, cold, paramo, and glacial.
Warm floor
the temperatures are usually above 24° C
24 degrees Celsius . It is characterized by altitudes from 0 meters (0 feet) to 1,000 meters.
In this area we find products such as: Bananas, cocoa, Orange, corn, cotton, coconuts and sugar cane.
Temperate floor
The temperate floor includes areas between 1,000 meters and 2,000 meters above sea level. The temperature
in these areas is also high, ranging from 24 °C to 18 °C.
In this area we find products such as: pinapools, coffe and cattle raising
Cold floor
This floor is characterized by an altitude of 2,000 meters to 3,000 meters above sea level. The temperature in
these areas are between 18 °C and 12 °C.
In this area we find products such as: wheat, potatoes, sheep, eucalyptus and curubas
Páramo floor
This floor includes areas between 3,000 meters and 4,000 meters above sea level. The temperature in these
areas fluctuates between 12 °C and 0° C .
In this area we find: fraileyons and and some animals like the Andean condor
Glacier floor
This floor is found in areas higher than 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level. The temperature in these
areas is below 0 °C (32 °F). In this area we do not find agricultural products.
