FINAL PROJECT POST EVENT TEMPLATE

SYNERGY: WHEN ART MEET BUSINESS

Name of the Event Synergy: When Art Meet Business (Batik Coloring Contest)
Meeting Objectives
Original Project Goal: State the project’s scope of work and deliverables. Was the product delivered on time and to
client satisfaction?

Batik is an technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted
tool called a canting, or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a cap. Wax is used to block in different colours during the colouring
process. Batik and Malaysian identity are closely related. Although batik is quite popular throughout the nation, not all people are aware of the
laborious procedure needed to produce this priceless legacy.

Creating a session that was entertaining and fun for the attendees was something we were successful in doing. Thanks to teachers from Jadi
Batek, participants comprehend how batik is created and the tales behind each batik masterpiece. The person becomes more conscious of our
tradition as a result.

The participants experienced several self-esteem boosts and departed with a genuine feel-good factor about themselves after colouring their
batik, demonstrating that our intentions for participants to foster creative thinking and feel a feeling of satisfaction when colouring the batik were
successful.

Timeline
Compare the Initial schedule to the actual timeline. Were there events that impacted the schedule or client
relationship?

Synergy: When Art Meet Business was held on December 17, 2022, at Level 3 of the MSU Learning Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 2:30
pm, the Batik Coloring Contest begins. Unfortunately, the session started at around 1.30 p.m. after being delayed by around an hour. The fact
that the participants and the Jadi Batek crew are aware of the issue is a blessing. Following the incident, the event was successful without
incident.

Budget
Did the outcome match the original cost goals?

We anticipate 30 participants, each of whom will be required to pay the RM 60 entry fee. We were able to raise RM 2800 from
sponsorships that we were able to get up to the day of the event, totaling RM 1000. With the funds we raised, we were able to
pay the Jadi Batek team, provide guests food, a gift bag, a t-shirt for the committee, and thrilling prizes to the winner of the
batik colouring contest.
TEAM DISCUSSION
What went well?

The most important component of a successful event is a strong and cohesive crew. The team and I collaborated skillfully
and professionally throughout the planning of the event, which had a positive effect on the evolution of the Batik
Coloring class up until the event day. Fortunately, everything went according to plan since everyone was dedicated to
reaching our main objective.

What could’ve gone better?

The squad depended heavily on sponsorship before the tournament. Fortunately, we were able to acquire the required
monies, which made it possible for the event to take place without incident. However, looking back, each committee
member should make an effort to find and secure sponsorship two weeks before to the event. By doing this, it would be
made certain that no risks were taken that may have ruined the event.

Additionally, communication may have been improved. For the most part, we utilised a messaging app to spread the word
about the event. As a consequence, it was unclear which chores had been finished and which still needed to be done. It
would have been fantastic to have had more weekly meetings to discuss the event.

How Strategic Management involved in the situation pre, during and post event?

The key to every event's success is solid strategic preparation. Prior to the event, we talk about the vendors we need to
select, our goals and objectives, and the budget. We also used social media to promote the workshop. Social media is an
effective technique for promoting our event. Each of us completes the responsibilities given to us by our leader during the
event. After the event, we all clean up the area together. By using strategic management, we can successfully plan an
event and provide guests a memorable experience.
