Setting of Standards
Before we begin our discussion
for our new topic, have you still
remembered our classroom
rules?
The classroom rules are as
follows:
1. Listen to the
teacher.
2. Participate in
every activity.
3. Raise your right
hand without
making noise if
you want to
answer.
4. Always keep our
classroom clean
before and after
leaving.
-The class will be divided into 4 Groups. Each Group should have to
answer first what is ask on the screen in order for them to get an
answer from the box that will be paste in the incomplete table
provided to them by the teacher.
Example:
Group I- “Leron Leron Sinta
Maam, & Angry”

Rule #1
In a large number of the cases,
the adverb can be formed by
simply adding ‘-ly’ to the
adjective.

Rule #2
If the adjective ends in with ‘y’,
replace the ‘y’ with an ‘i’ and add
‘-ly’.

If the adjective ends with ‘-le’,
replace the ‘e’ at the end with ‘y’.

If the adjective ends with ‘-ic’,
add ‘-ally’.

Some adjectives do not change
form at all.
GUIDED PRACTICE
1. He plays the flute
beautifully.
In our 1st example. What is the
main verb? And how did he play “plays”
the flute? “beautifully”
“Very good! the word beautifully
describes how did he plays the
flute. Therefore, the word
beautifully is our Adverb of
manner.
