ARTICLE 1
GROUP NAME

The name ABUBAKAR MOSQUE COMMITTEE (AMC) remains the group name. Address 861-
20200.Email: masjidabubakar132@gmail.com . The group is situated at Motobo, Kipchebor ward,
Ainamoi constituency, Kericho County.

The group members shall be informed in case of any changes.

ARTICLE 2
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
ABUBAKAR MOSQUE COMMITTEE was formed with the following aims and objectives:

 It’s a religious group


 Welfare of its members ,uplifting the living standards of the less fortunate
(poor,orphans,widows)
 MAC will see that all the (poor, orphans) are educated through the bursary scheme.
 MAC will see that the living standards of the less fortunate (poor, orphans, widows) is uplifted.
 To sensitize the community on communicable diseases,STIs/STDs,HIV/AIDS among other
pandemics.(the group has its own trained members who are qualified and who are up to the
task)
 To assist and educate the newly converts.
 To see and help the community live a healthy religious/socio-economic life.
 Supporting other members in case of emergency and other occasions through the welfare.

ARTICLE 3

(I) MEMBERSHIP
(a) QUALIFICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

 Must be 18 years and above.


 Holder of national ID/passport.
 Be located within the area where the group is found.
 Be mentally stable.
 Trusted by all members, reliable, committed and honest.
 Cooperative, available and willing.
 Be visionary and well informed.
 Be respectful and respect others regardless of status.
 Have good conduct that stands in the community.
 Be ready to always observe all the rules and regulations of the organization.
(II) REGISTRATION
 Every member must and understand the constitution before joining the group.
 Any person registered with MAC is a member.
 Any person seeking membership with MAC shall be required to pay two hundred
shilling (non-refundable).
 All members will be required to make a monthly operation fee of one hundred shillings.
(III) MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION
A group member and membership can be terminated if:
A member dies.
A member constantly violates the constitution.
Nonattendance thrice consecutive without valid reason as stated in the apology clause.
Lack of respect for member/officer.
Shift from group locality area.
Members are uncomfortable with the member due to the above reasons or any other
which should be discussed at the meeting and seek the opinion of the group.

ARTICLE 4

(A) ELECTION

i. Elections shall be done after every THREE years. However, election can be held earlier
depending on the circumstances.
ii. At least ¾ of the group should participate. Officials can be re-elected severally.
iii. System of voting will be dictated by Islamic law.
iv. One or two people will be appointed to preside over and supervise the election and
announce the results.
v. The executive shall comprise the Chair and the vice-chair, the Treasurer and one
assistant, the Secretary and one assistant.
vi. Where a top official dies/resigns, a by-election will be held to fill the vacant post.
vii. Members shall elect 13 individuals of their choice after a free and fair elections.
viii. In the event where a member want to challenge the outcome of the election, he/she
should follow the right channel.
ix. In the event where a malpractice/irregularities occurs, the presiding officer has the
power to nullify and call for a fresh election.

(B) OFFIICES

ARTICLE 5

(A) MEETING –GENERAL MEETINGS

Group meeting should be held at least once in a month together with other items. The agenda
of the

Meeting shall consist of:

 Remarks from the chair.


 Confirmation of the previous minutes.
 Report from the treasury.
 Special meeting to be convened by executive committee and members notified in the
next meeting.

(B) A.G.M

Annual general meetings will be held at every first weekend of December. A clear notice for
the A.G.M shall be given to members. Annual report will then be read to members and any
development/achievement made within that time.

(C) FUNDINGS

ABUBAKAR Mosque Committee will depend on the following ways of acquiring its finances:

 Registration fee from members.


 Income generating projects e.g. house rents etc.
 Donation from well-wishers.

The treasurer will be in charge of receiving and banking of all the funds to the organization bank
account. All the transactions shall be made with the approval of the committee. Three signatories shall
have authority over withdrawals from the bank account.

ARTICLE 6
(I) RULES AND REGULATIONS

 Members opinions, views, ideals should be taken into consideration.


 No member is allowed to take action upon his/her own hands.
 Members are required to always carry out organizational mandates with decorum.
 No member is allowed to leak out organization affairs to the non-members.
 Right procedure/protocol shall be followed during problem solving.
 No member is allowed to hold or disclose official document without the consent of the
executive committee.
 Any donation/funding made to the committee shall be made known to members.
 Members to maintain discipline and respect towards each other, their leaders and elders all
the time.
 AMC is a non-political organization. Political affairs should not be discussed at all times.
 Issues unrelated to the group objectives will not be entertained.
 Apologies accepted are: sickness, burials of immediate family member, maternity leave, court
cases and work commitments only.
 Absenteeism without apology for three consecutive meetings shall be considered as an
indiscipline. A penalty initiated by members or expulsion or both will be taken against
him/her.
 No more than three apologies are accepted unless with genuine reasons as stated in the
apology clause. If such occurs a member is considered as not part of the group and should be
expelled.
 Group issues should be discussed one by one in agenda format while in the meeting to avoid
informal meetings outside the meeting venue.
 Meeting should be held in neutral venue that is safe and accessible.
 Meeting venue if changed should be agreed upon by all members and in the meeting with the
consent of every member.
 Election irregularities shall not be entertained. Anyone found culpable of such offense shall
have his candidature cancelled, and will be subjected to the full force of the law.

(II) RIGHTS AND FREEDOM.

Each AMC member is entitled to:


1. Right to fair hearing.
2. Right to present his/her ideas, opinions, views.
3. Right to make contribution.
4. Freedom of expression.
5. Gender equality should be highly considered.
6. Right to vie/hold any leadership position within the organization.
7. Right to choose/elect a leader of his/her choice.
8. Right to access information about the group.

ARTCLE 7
DISSOLUTION

ABUBAKAR MOSQUE COMMITTEE can be dissolve under the following circumstances:

Bankruptcy of the organization.


Corruption and fraudulent cases.
Death/ resignation of an official holding executive office.
Any other case that can validate the dissolution.

ARTICLE 8
AMENDMENT.

In case of any amendment to any clause in the constitution or a vote of no confidence to any official, the
claimant must submit such observation in written to the executive committee. A special meeting shall
be convened to discuss the claims/allegations. ¼ of the members present will vote in favor or against a
member holding the office.
