1. General A. Flap tracks which experience corrosion may be repaired by removing the corrosion, however the remaining material must meet the rework limitations of Figure 201. 2. Repair Procedure A. Corrosion Removal. (1) Refer to Chapter 51, Corrosion - Repair, for measurement and repair procedures for corroded areas of flap tracks. (2) Corrosion must be removed and blended in accordance with good workmanship and with blend radius listed in the standard repairs. (3) Figure 201 illustrates the various critical areas of the individual flap tracks and the minimum thickness to which the tracks can be reworked in each area. (4) Apply color chemical film treatment to all bare metal. B. Flap track slot nick or gouge repair. (1) Make sure that the Upper flap track slot width is 0.572 +0.005 or -0.005 inches (14.528 mm, +0.0127 or -0.0127 mm) and the Lower flap track slot width is 0.760 inches, +0.005 or -0.005 inches (19.304 mm, +0.0127 or -0.0127 mm). Refer to Figure 201. (a) Polish the nick or gouge in a 5 to 1 slope ratio to blend. Make sure that your final polishing is in the fore to aft direction. (2) If the referenced dimensions are not met after the completion of the repair, the flap track must be replaced.
