Course Description : The course emphasizes the contents of Philippine History and Government that are necessary in teaching at the elementary
level. Further, appropriate teaching strategies and assessment methods shall be included to prepare students to become
elementary grades teachers. The course will enable the pre-service teachers to create a lesson plan and demonstrate teaching
strategies that are responsive to teaching Social Studies from diverse learners in the elementary grades.

Course Learning Outcomes : Within the semester, the students will be able to:

1. Internalize the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the College;


2. Demonstrate content knowledge and its application within and / or across curriculum teaching areas (PO 6.2.b);
3. Apply teaching strategies in teaching Philippine history and government responsive to the needs of diverse learners and using
variety of resources (PO 6.2.c);
4. Apply teaching strategies in teaching Social Studies that develop learners’ critical and creative thinking and/or other higher-order
thinking skills (PO 6.2.f);
5. Design, select, and use appropriate and varied assessment strategies consistent with the curriculum requirements (PO 6.2.d &
PO 6.2.f);
6. Demonstrate skills in the positive use of ICT (PO 6.2.c).
