Academic Background:
I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics at Arid
Agriculture University, Rawalpindi in August 2021. I scored a 3.65 CGPA out of
4.00. I was an active and participative student in education, extra-curricular
activities and gaining professional experience through a job. I was one of the top
students in my class and I passed every semester exam with good grades.
In our final semester, we were taught the methods to conduct research in
economics, we were asked to develop a business model considering the area of our
interest and in another subject, we were asked to select a policy adopted by the
Government of Pakistan and find deficiencies in it according to our interest.
The Business Model which I developed was about Pharmacies and Medical
Stores shifting their business online, too. For this, I collected data from Pharmacies
and Medical Stores on their sale and profits and their perception of the current
condition of the pharmaceutical business and how government policies are
impacting it. Then I developed a model of how the business will be started, how
services will be provided and how it will be beneficial for existing businesses.
In the development of this model, I learned how to collect data, how businesses are
conducted in Pakistan, the role of government and organizational rules and the
behavior of the consumers.
Then, I studied the “Media Policy of Pakistan” for another subject. In this
policy, I studied the policy and found discrepancies in the policy according to the
religious and social norms of Pakistani society, the extent of power being given to
government agencies and the less or extra freedom being given to media
organizations. It was a good read and research for me and I was able to learn how
policies are being created, the extent of power being given to government agencies
and how they exercise it and the impact of less or more freedom of the press.
Apart from my studies, I was involved to some extent in extra-curricular
activities. My focus regarding extra-curricular activities was on those activities
which can be helpful for me in maintaining good health and helpful in future. I
regularly played sports and I was a member and Economics Department
coordinator of Aridian Health Society. I was a member of a team which
successfully conducted a blood donation camp for thalassemia patients.
For one and a half years, I also worked part-time and was Store In-charge of
that business. My duties were to maintain the office, manage the inventory, pack
the ordered items and deliver those orders to the service provider (daraz.pk) with
whom they were working as a seller.
