LINE PIPE (SOUR SERVICE), SPECIFICATION NO.6-71-008 Rev-3 :-

1.1 Refer Clause No. 1.1, Purpose and Coverage, Page 4 of 22.

1st Para of Cl. No. 1.1; “This specification.....applicable.” stands replaced by the
following as below:

“This specification establishes the minimum requirements for the manufacture


of seamless steel line pipe in accordance with the requirements of API
(American Petroleum Institute) Specification 5L, Forty-Third Edition, 2004 and
requirements of NACE standard MR-01-75 (latest edition) and makes
restrictive amendments to API Spec. 5L. Unless modified and / or deleted by
this specification, the requirements of API Spec. 5L shall remain applicable.

In addition to this specification, wherever stringent, requirements/ provisions/


amendments of the latest 44th edition of API Spec 5L (Effective October –
2008), shall also apply”.

1.2 Refer Clause No. 1.1, Purpose and Coverage, Page 4 of 22.

4th Para of Cl. No. 1.1; “The Manufacturer ….. Level PSL 2.” stands replaced
by the following as below:

“The Manufacturer shall have a valid license to use API Monogram in


accordance with the requirements of API Spec 5L, on line pipe as Product
Specification Level PSL 2”.

1.3 Refer Clause No. 6.1.1 Table 2B: PSL 2 Chemical Requirements for Heat
and Product Analyses by Percentage of Weight Chemical Composition,

The chemical composition of ‘S’ shall be read as “0.003% (max)” in place of


“0.008% (max)”.

The chemical composition of ‘P’ shall be read as “0.015 (max)” in place of


“0.02% (max)”.

The chemical composition of ‘Al’ shall be read as “0.06% (max)” in place of


“0.07% (max)”.

The chemical composition of ‘Cr’ shall be read as “0.3% (max)” in place of


“0.2%( max)”.

The chemical composition of ‘Ni’ shall be read as “0.3% (max)” in place of


“0.2% (max)”.

The chemical composition of ‘Ti’ shall be read as “0.07% (max)” in place of


“0.04% (max) for Grade B to X 60 and 0.06% (max) for Grade X 65 to X 70”.

The chemical composition of ‘V’ shall be read as “0.09% (max)” in place of


“0.08% (max)”.

The Crack Sensitivity Ratio (CSR) indicated in 5th line shall be read as ‘0%’ in
place of ‘1%’.
