Ground settlement beneath foundations, underpinning works, proposed major infrastructure works or the demolition of an adjoining building sometimes
undermine the stability of masonry walls. It is then necessary to carry out permanent consolidation works by adding stabilising elements. One effective
solution consists of adding steel portal frames that are either incorporated into the wall or placed as supports behind it, inside the building.
