ACCIDENT KEY INFORMATION
◼ Consequence: Fatality.
◼ Context: Vehicle (A) collided on the left side of
a vehicle (B) moving in perpendicular direction.

Accident Detailed Description (Non-work related)
At 8:00 PM (outside of duty hours) on Monday May 29th, 2023, our BV
employee was driving his own rented vehicle (B) for his personal trip close
to Al Khor City, where he resides. While BV employee was crossing a
junction square after the green signal from “south to North” the third party
vehicle (A) moving in perpendicular direction “west to east”, crossed the
junction square without stopping at the traffic red signal and collided with
BV employee’s vehicle (B), destroyed left side of the car completely,
caused the death of our employee on spot. The driver of the vehicle (A)
Land Cruiser suffered some minor injuries, and he is currently detained by
the police.
BV local HR informed the victim’s family in India immediately.
Causes of the incident
◼ Vehicle (A) crossing the traffic red light signal and hit our employee’s
vehicle (B).
◼ Excessive speed by vehicle (A).
Lessons learnt
◼ Be vigilant when driving even though the signal is open for your route.
◼ Always use a peripheral view technique when driving. Eyes and mind
on the road from both sides.
◼ Adopt attentive behavior while road, Junction, and intersection to avert
from such incidents.
Preventive actions
◼ Cascade this alert to ALL Qatar entities and conduct an STBT with the
highlights of this incident and relevant safety awareness.
◼ Ensure all BV drivers complete “Prevent Drive training” and adopt a
defensive driving behavior to foresee any potential risk (Refer:
