SUN IN NOVEMBER
DISSOLVE FADE into this TEENAGER’s BEDROOM, as we enter the room meeting
Riley, a 17-year-old teenage girl, sitting on her floor against her bed
with a notebook in front of her as she is listening to music from the
speaker of her phone.
Riley looks at her phone, picking her phone up with “One new voicemail”
which has been left from a week ago. The resistance of clicking on this
voice note breaks her apart, not in the way that makes you cry, but in
the way that makes you feel a little bit of regret.
With all the urge to click that voice note, she finally clicks the
notification, and the voicemail begins to play.
FLASHBACK to this dark room with many teenagers dancing to the music as
Riley is moving past them having a good time. Above them there is this
orange light that fills up the room, leaving what’s left of highlighted
silhouettes enjoying teenage youth.
END FLASHBACK.
Riley wipes a tear from her face as she listens to that last sentence,
instantly we see regret shining across her face.
So, I know last time you were telling me how you were thinking
about what to write about for your book idea, well, ha ha, I mean I
know it will be great since it runs in the family.
END FLASHBACK.
FLASH.
FLASH.
BLACK SCREEN.
SCENE FOUR: EXT: FIELD FILLED WITH FLOWERS AND GRASS (SUNSET)
RILEY (V.O)
And all of the noise became instantly silent. For the first
time I didn’t no what to write.
Riley standing in the middle of this field, looking up at the sky, all
we can see is the sunset filling the sky, what might be up there?
Grandma Cathy?
RILEY (V.O)
Riley, carrying on from before, running from all these emotions until
she stopped at the dock. Catching her breath, looking at the ducks in
the water.
RILEY (V.O)
Looking deep into the sky, I can see your smile, hear your
laughter, but most importantly, for me, being lucky enough to have
known you became a moment in time. A moment that turned the world
into a better place.
And I want you to know that the hardest part wasn't saying
goodbye, the hardest part was knowing I wasn't going to have you in
my life. I love you.
BLACK SCREEN
SOUND: CHILDREN PLAYING AT THE PARK, WATER MOVING IN THE RIVER
FADE IN as we see Riley sitting on the bench, taking out a paper out of
her pocket, finally she has these words said out, when it felt the
hardest to write. She looks up…

need to hire it out in order to use the space.
Suitability / shots for production (scene numbers):

The space to move is quite small I will plan to have only a few

All filming sets and equipment comply with the HSE guidance and Health and

CONTINGENCY PLAN
Weather only being overcast in the next Over the last week, I have been looking
few weeks when I need sunset-type continuously at the weather forecast, I
weather. It mainly says that the weather is going
to be overcast or rainy – which is going
to delay my filming if I have to wait for
the weather to be sunny for the aesthetic
I want. I have looked into several ways
to beat this and one way I found that I
can mask a sunset in post editing phase
if needed, building onto from the
overcast weather. However, I will have to
delay filming if it starts raining and I
am on location. Unfortunately, there
isn’t much I can do about the weather
since it can change from hour to hour
however, I have to make do with what I
have and use postproduction to fix
colouring if the scenes have quite a blue
tint from the weather.
The risk of my equipment being out of If the equipment has chargeable batteries
charge. such as the camera or lighting stand, I
will make sure that I have the charger
with me or have extra charged batteries
in case there aren’t any plug points
around.
Some scenes I have planned to film For these scenes, in this case, I have
include extra actors but what if my planned that these actors won’t really
actors cancel on me. have a character profile or any dialogue
so they are only essential for being
‘friends’ of the character, therefore if
need be, I can change on the day. For
this reason, I will also have extra actor
consent forms that I can give out if my
actors change.
Not having enough time to edit or I have planned out more time in my
finishing my editing in time. production schedule for editing a first
draft and having time to micro edit if
need be in order to maximise my chance to
making my production’s editing perfect
for submission. In my last productions, I
have found this part to be the case so
this time round I have planned out how I
can combat this issue by having more time
to edit since I find it more complicated
than filming or planning.
