▪ Summary
Introduction
• It is a business management software that is used to
integrate all the business activities in an organization.

• It is mainly used by companies that work within the supply

chain. It is also used by other industries like healthcare, non-
profit organization, etc.

• Examples of ERP system modules include product lifecycle

management, supply chain management (for example
purchasing, manufacturing, and distribution), warehouse
management, customer relationship management (CRM),
sales order processing, online sales, financials, human
resources, and decision support system.
Introduction
▪ Green Rabbit, formerly known as Candy.com is a
candy wholesale business founded by two friends,
Greg Balestrieri and Joe Melville.
▪ The duo opened their online business selling candy to
retailers, event planners and candy lovers.
▪ They had a goal of becoming the “corner candy store
of the world”.
Challenge

Candy.com soon confronted a challenge – shipping chocolate bars during the warm summer months. This dilemma led to the
team to quickly learn the intricacies of temperature – sensitive supply chain logistics.
Solution
After the pals designed a heat-sensitive supply chain,
other food companies turned to them for help. The duo
rebranded as Green Rabbit, a supply chain logistics
provider specializing in fast delivery of perishable goods.
The challenge – Before ERP
▪ The shift in strategy tested the company’s current processes, which relied on QuickBooks, Excel
and Email.
▪ Green Rabbit’s multiple databases couldn’t communicate with one another making real-time data
analysis impossible.
▪ The warehouse was often waiting on help from the IT team.
The Solution
▪ Green Rabbit chose NetSuite ERP
▪ NetSuite professional services team got the company up and running on the system in three
months.
NetSuite’s been able
to keep up with our
explosive growth. We
can triple our
volume right now
and it wouldn’t
impact our
systems.

The Results – After ERP
With the use of ERP, Green Rabbit now helps customers ship candy, snacks and more across the
country in 24 hours from one of three different warehouses, without inventory errors.

▪ Delivers tens of thousands of orders per day, without delays.

▪ Gets guaranteed error-free data from its ERP system, instead of risking errors from manually
entered data.
▪ Could triple its order volume, if desired, without impact to its systems.
Today
▪ Today Green Rabbit ships from three different fulfillment centers across the US, delivering tens of
thousands of orders per day using an algorithm that looks at 15 different variables to determine
the best way to ship to consumers and small businesses.

▪ Six of the top 10 retailers and four of the top 10 CPG companies with temperature-sensitive
products use Green Rabbit’s services.
Summary
▪ When implemented correctly, ERP makes
it easier to manage a complicated supply
chain, as Green Rabbit’s case study
shows.

▪ ERP is pivotal to growth. Green Rabbit

implemented ERP after it grew
substantially and because it an anticipated
further expansion.
