I. Objective
* By the end of the lesson, students will be able to :
- use the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction.
- greet others and introduce themselves, using “ Hello/Hi. I’m +(name)”
- develop some following competences:
+ Communicative and collaborative competence: work in groups/pairs, talk about
greeting (Activity 1, Activity 3, Activity 4)
+ Problem-solving competence: play the games (Activity 1, Activity 4)
+ Self-studying and self-control competence: using language to greet and self-
introduction, using knowledge to do exercise.
+ Problem-solving and creative competence: Activity 4.
* Language Focus
- Vocabulary: Hello, Hi, I’m, Nice to meet you, Good morning, Good afternoon, Good
evening.
- Sentence patterns: Hello/Hi. I’m + (name)
+ Incomplete ss : can know and remember some words about the topic Introduction ( Hi ,
Hello) to talk and practice the pattern.
+ Well-complete ss : can know and remember all the words about the topic Introduction
and use the pattern correctly.
II. Materials
1. Teacher’s aids: Student’s and Teacher’s book, pictures cassette, interactive board.
2. Students’ aids : books, notebooks and workbooks.
III. Method
Pictures, Picture cue drill , Grammar Translation Method, Audio Lingual Method,
Presentation-Practice-Production, pair work and group work.
IV. Teaching activities
Activity 1: ( 3 minutes)
Warm up: “ Hello song”

*Content:
- T introduces contents of pictures.
- T asks ss the name of the characters and what they say.
- Ss look at the pictures and get to know the characters in the pictures.
- Ss look at the pictures, listen the conversation and repeat.

* Procedure:
-Set the scene
-T gets ss to describe the content of the picture.
-Ss look at the picture
-Ss listen to the tape and repeat (twice)
-Ss read the dialogue individually.
-Ss work in pairs to practice.
- T calls some open pairs.
- T checks spelling for ss.
- Well-complete ss practice.
- Incomplete ss listen
*Structures:
Hello. I’m Mai.
Hello, Mai. I’m Nam.
*Content:
- Ss practice saying Hello/ Hi. I’m + (name) and responding to the greeting.
* Procedure:
- T runs through pictures.
- T points to each character in the picture and elicit his/ her name and the words to fill the
gaps.
- T writes the whole sentences on the board.
- T models.

*Content:
- Ss can practice more with their friends.
* Procedure:
- T points to each character eliciting the name.
- T asks ss to guess what the children say.
- Ss answer.
- T fills the gaps and writes the sentences on the board.
- T asks ss to play game: “Passing the puppet”.
- Ss play game “Passing the puppet”.
- T gives ss a puppet.
- T asks ss to listen to music and transfer a puppet around the class.
- When the music stops, ss who keep a puppet have to practice with partner.
Consolidation
Content:
- Summary the lesson.
* Procedure:
- T asks students to answer the following questions:
What have you learnt from the lesson today?
What are the core values of the lesson? ( if the teacher can take from
the lesson).
- T review the vocabulary “Hello, Hi, I’m, Nice to meet you, Good morning,
Good afternoon, Good evening” and the structure “Hello/Hi. I’m + (name)”
Praising some ss who are hard working/ active/ good…. as well as
encourage others to try more.
