Hello,

I am Park Jun-seok, here to present about the discovery and principles of the magnetic field.

The principle of the magnetic field is one of the secrets that Walton wanted to reveal in the novel. Today, I
would like to introduce this mysterious principle to all of you.

First, let's talk about the discovery of the magnetic field. For a long time, navigation heavily relied on
celestial navigation using stars. Since the positions of stars could only be observed at night, navigation
during the day posed a challenge. Therefore, there was a need for a tool that could determine location
even during the daytime, leading to the development of the compass. In ancient and medieval times,
people used compasses to find directions, unknowingly utilizing the magnetic field.

In this way, the magnetic field was discovered in conjunction with the use of the compass.

Now, let me introduce the scientists who have studied the magnetic field.

First, Ørsted. Ørsted discovered the correlation between the magnetic field and the electric field, and this
discovery led to active research on magnetism and electricity.

Next is Michael Faraday. He explained the relationship between magnetic flux and the electromotive
force induced by the magnetic field through several experiments.

Lastly, Jean-Baptiste Biot and Félix Savart. These two summarized the Biot-Savart Law, which explains
the origin of the magnetic field.

Now, let's discuss Faraday's experiments. He measured the magnitude of the induced electromotive force
in a wire by changing factors such as the intensity of the magnetic field and the area affected by the
magnetic field. As a result, he discovered that changes in magnetic flux lead to changes in the induced
electromotive force.

The derived Faraday's law later became part of Maxwell's equations, contributing to our understanding of
the nature of light.
The advancement of humanity obtained through understanding the nature of light is an undeniable fact for
all of us.

Lastly, the Biot-Savart Law. These two scientists established this theory, revealing that the magnetic field
is formed by current (the movement of charges). They also formulated equations to describe the
magnitude and direction of the current and magnetic field. Here is the equation.
