 1.EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Industrial training is an important component of the curriculum diploma

programme offered by the Polytechnic Ungku Omar. Industrial training course has been
made compulsory for all students to improve their knowledge and technical skills and be
able to adapt to the working environment that students will be faced after graduation.
Industrial training is compulsory for all final year students and will give students the
opportunity to experience real-life situations in the workplace. In addition, the students
will gain the new knowledge which they will not find in the classroom as the knowledge
will help them in their workplace in future. As a final year student of Polytechnic Ungku
Omar Session II 2022/2023, I had undergone a practical training in order to graduate
from my Institute as a trainee at Pro Lite Electrical in Gopeng ,Perak. from 30 JANUARY
2023 – 16 JUNE 2023. I had been given the job scope throughout my whole internship
training which I need to assist the technicians to do wiring for houses, schools,shoplots
and many other buildings. As a conclusion, I had learned many things other than what I
learned during at Polytechnic. These knowledges and experience are precious to me as
I has never been exposed to a real workplace. I highly appreciate the knowledge and
experience that I gained and will apply them in my future workplace.

Pro-Lite Electrical is a company where do new wiring for new buildings or building
which wiring have to be modified.Later, when the wiring have been completed fixing
work will start such as fixing dawn light, syiling fan, switches and many more electrical
components.Furthermore, Pre-Lite Electrical also do fixing CCTV and auto-gate.

 5. CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
Throughout the 20 weeks, which Is about 5 months of Industrial Training is
found to be a precious experience and knowledge for me. The exposure of me to a real
workplace has shown me a good picture of the future workplace that my workplace
field would be. Thus, through my training in a manufacturing factory, I had seen what a
true manufacturing workplace could be a great experience for me if I involved in
manufacturing field in my future. The Industrial Training has enhanced my skill in
mechanical assembly and provided me knowledge in using tools to help me
accomplish my task whenever I was assigned in assembly a machine. Despite of
learning to use new tools and enhance assembly skill, I had also enhanced my
electrical skill as I need to install cable and doing wiring harness for some machine
through my training. I also learned to study the mechanical and electrical drawing of
machine module and learned to study the 3D design of machine module which allow
me to understand more about the machine module during the assembly. As for
Production department which I was assigned to, the way of the technician and
engineers works together as a team in order to achieve their goal has shown me what
a good team should be like as everyone is playing their own role throughout the whole
project assembly.

As a conclusion, I am still got a lot of things to improve and learn even though it
was a 5 months of Industrial Training. The knowledge, skills and experience I had
gained through my whole internship will be cherished and remembered as they are
very important to me for my future use. The exposure to a real workplace has make me
to be more confident and encourage whenever I face a new challenge. As for the
people at my workplace, I am extremely grateful for their willingness to teach and show
me the skill and knowledge during the assembly and how to solve or what to do when a
mistake were made and problem occurred. Which encourage and acknowledge me for
facing problem. Lastly, the Industrial Training is very important to Polytechnic Student
as they will learn to take responsibility for their role and job scope and also be
disciplined throughout the internship, as the result, they will be ready for their future
challenges.
