ABSTRACT.
This report of electrical design comprises of all fixed electrical and equipment that is supplied through
the electricity Meter satisfactory earthling arrangements are in place to ensure that a fuse are it causes
an quickly clear an electric shock or fire also involve lights, sockets and many others

The design involved research of I.E.E regulation(institution of electrical engineers) of lights sockets and
should be tighten, cable should be correct in light used 1.5mm and sockets used 2.5mm design found
I .E.E regulation in website https://www.scribd.com/document.

Fitting of lights by 1.5mm cable before lights the calculation of the illumination is done. lamp which a
designer fitt to the room is a fluorescent tube in all rooms.

Socket which a designer used and a label is 2.5mm and used ring method in wiring of the socket and
Other sockets is comprises of double sockets and single sockets and put many sockets for easy work in
the room.

Use of conduits is the best system of wiring designer used conduits in wiring the room. Conduit is good
because it has a long life, it is a good appearance, it is reliable and that is why is why a designer used it

Distribution board they installed in domestic premises to provide control distribution and protection to
the various final circuits within the installation is the center of the wiring system in the room.

It is important to install the electricity into the house or building, and it will help a designer in experience
of his/her work and this electricity will improve the standard of living to many to people .

The designer should work, toolls to be used e.g cables conduit and other should be given to the designer
before the work stated so that he/she arrange smoothly before doing work.

Definition of terms
Lux – it is the unit of lumen

Pvc – polychrophynyle
Trs – tough rubber sheet

vi
CHAPTER ONE
This chapter we discussed about the fixing of lights sockets and conduit. There is many others

things which is in this chapter in which it make the restaurant to be good and to make the work to

be easy e.g. when cooking, warming some food to customers and this is easy because of move

sockets which is in restaurants in other chapters bis about the calculation of the area in the rooms

in restaurants and many other calculation e.g. the spacing between the lamps e.g.

OBJECTIVES
1. To design lightings system in the room.

2. To determine on how materials are to be used during installation of electricity.

3. To determine how the power distribution can be done in a easy and sate way without materials

being wasted.

4. To design sockets outlet.

SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY.

This will be benefit in the society and it will leads many people to do engineering in this design,

it helps engineers or designers to be known by customers in the community.

1
SCOPE
In designing restaurant, calculation is important like,

1.Calculation of the restaurant area.

2.calculation of the spacing between the lamps in order to know the number of lamps in each
room in restaurants.

3.To know the type of conduits to be used in the room.

2
CHAPTER TWO.
2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW.
In this chapter electrical design of an existing restaurant is a bit different to a proposed one sine

the existing had been divide into four major rooms that is office, store, restaurant distance and I.

each room there is lamps and sockets and then use of conduits. for the case of proposed electrical

design layout it contain four rooms in this rooms, each room has its own work e.g. an office it

use in writing some documents to be used in restaurants e.g. the calculation of the food and

amount of Moy to be used been buying food. In this office a gain their is computer to use and

this would make work to be easy and a things to be used in restaurants.

This rooms the supply and fitting of material in the layout lumen method was used to abstain the

total number of lights fitting the design, where the area of the premise was calculated and

multiply by the flux then divided by m.f at d.f giving the total number of lights.

According to the feature of each electrical design layout it is observed that features very sincere

for the existing distribution of the number that the designer wants. For the sockets all the rooms

were supplied with two pole socket outlet and a two way socket with switch for the case of the

office and even store under proposed design. All the sockets lights and switches were put in

place using the conduits.

3
CHAPTER TREE.

3.0 METHODOLOGY.
This chapter outlines the materials methods and procedure used to come up with the design

layout.

3 1.PRODUCTS/MATERIAL USED.
The electrical material that was used during layout includes switches, Florescent, lamps, sockets

outlet, conduit meter box cables of 2.5 mm and 1.5mm and a main switch.

Calculation

No of lamps/ total lamps required. luminous flux ×area÷ lumen× wattage× utilization factor ×

maintenance factor.

No of lamps=400×(10×15.25)÷150×36×0.8×0.9 =15.66 = 16 lamps.

Restaurant

Area= (11.3×10)=113 meter sgure.=400×113÷150×36×0.8×0.9= 45200÷3888=11.62 =12 lamps.

Spacing =maximum height× spacing factor

(3×1.25) =3.75m

No of rows= width÷ spaces

=2.667=3 rows.

No of fixtures in each row= total lamps÷ no of rows 12÷3=4 lamps .

Acid spacing = 11.3÷4=2.85 = 3m

Transverse = width ÷no of fixtures=10÷4= 2.5m = 3m.

Office.

No of lamps in a office l ×uf×mf= 400×(3.9×14)÷150×30×0.8×0.9=396÷3888=1.6456=2lamps.

Spacing=maximum height × spacing factor.3×1.25=3.75m

No of rows =width ÷ no of fixtures 3.9 ÷2=1.95 rows.

6
Axial spacing= length ÷no of rows 4.1÷1.95 =2.102

Transverse = width ÷ no of fixtures =3 .9÷ 1.95.

Store

Area of the store = l×w(4.1×3.9)=15.99 sgure meter.

No of spacing = maximum height × spacing factor.

=3×1.25=3.75m.

No of rows = width÷ spacing 3.9÷3.75 = 1.04

No of fixture in each row= total lamps ÷no of rows

=1.645÷1.04=1.58

No of lamps = (400×15.99)÷150×36×0.8×0.9=6396÷3888=1.645

Axial spacing =lengi÷no of rows =4.1 ÷1.04

Transverse =width ÷no of fixtures 3.9÷ 1.04 = 3.75

Passage 150×30×uf×mf=400×5.6÷150×36×0.9=2340÷3888=0.576.

Bar area

=1/4πrsgure=1/4×3.14×3sgure = 7.0695.

400×7.0695÷150×36×0.8×0.9=2827.8÷3888=1lamp

No of fixtures=total lamps÷no of rows 1÷1=1

7
Axial spacing= length 3÷1=3

Transverse=width ÷no of fixty 3÷1=3

Light design

These are florescent lamps and are in each room.

Switches used are two gang two way switches.

8
Sockets design
Double and single sockets which were used
Methods used was ring

9
Conduit Design
Three meters of conduit was used and true box was used.

10
CHEPTER FOUR.
Analysis.

Findings.
The findings located during the project layout was done and design include.

1.It was found that there is no waste of materials when a layout is made.

2.It was found that low power loss when the design is laid out

3.Thera could be proper use of material leading to low cost of labour and materials.

4.It was found that electrical installation is easy when a design is lay out.

Data analysis.
Evidence covering the project design and how materials have spend are clearly show using tables

as shown below.

4.2.1 Table .

This indicate how ligi in each room has been place and there number in each room together with

sockets layout.

Rooms Lights number Sockets type and Conduits

11
numbers

Office 2 3 3

Passage 1 0 2

Store 2 10 3

Bar 1 2 3

Restaurant 11 21 8

4.3 conclusion.
When the design layout was done it was conclude that the following should be considered

designing electrical layout.

1.project layout should be designed before any installation.

2.materials user in the installation should be enough.

3.How power loss is minimized before installation.

4 How materials are fixed into the premise by considering the cost and then labor.

4.4 Recommendation.
I recommend that before installation factors to be considered as listed under collusion should be

taken in point that after installation test covering the materials should be done as per the layout

of the design.
