LEVEL CLASS: 1iere SECOND SEMESTER

CORRECTION OF THE EVALUATION

I. TEXT COMPREHENSION : BAD THINGS MUST STOP

When I was in office, I had the opportunity to travel round the country. That is where I
saw there is a big difference between people living in cities and the mass people who feed us
living in rural areas.
The water we use to flash our toilet in cities is cleaner than the water they drink in
villages. No clinics, no hospitals, no needles to even sew their clothes. That is when I start to
see the queer relationship between our cities and these places. I have seen too much injustice
in my country when I decided enough is enough…
Energy now goes to every part of the villages. Children can now go to school, children
can learn at night so that my child living in the city would not have an advantage over that child
torn in the village. But as soon as that child in the village is denied and deprived of electricity to
learn at night and good water to drink… my child in the city will always have an advantage over
the ones living in the village. I have been to school were rural students were doing better than
those living in cities.
In Europe, you never seem to know the role that some of your bad business men play.
But some of your bad business men are always doing bribes, bad things in our continent. And
some people suffer. These things must stop.

well-being. The trees give us clean water to drink, air to breathe, shade
and food to humans, animals and plants. They provide habitats for
numerous species of fauna and flora, firewood for cooking and heat,

health of the species that live there, and they need our unconditional care
and protection.”
