WHAT’S IN (PAGE 4)
- The Earth consists of four subsystems, across whose boundaries matter and
energy flows, the atmosphere (air), biosphere (living things), hydrosphere (water), and
geosphere (land). The atmosphere provides the geosphere with heat and energy needed or
rock breakdown and erosion. The biosphere receives gases, heat, and sunlight (energy from
the atmosphere. It receives water from the hydrosphere and a living medium from the
geosphere.

EXPLANATION:
- In linear model, communication is considered one way process where sender is the
only one who sends message and receiver doesn’t give feedback or response. The
message signal is encoded and transmitted through channel in presence of noise.
The sender is more prominent in linear model of communication.
2. TRANSACTIONAL MODEL
DIAGRAM:
EXPLANATION:
- Transactional model of communication is the exchange of messages between sender
and receiver where each take turns to send or receive messages. Here,
both sender and receiver are known as communicators and their role reverses each
time in the communication process as both processes of sending and receiving
occurs at the same time.
3. INTERACTIVE MODEL
DIAGRAM:
EXPLANATION:
- Interactive model (also known as convergence model) deals with exchange of ideas
and messages taking place both ways from sender to receiver and vice-versa. The
communication process take place between humans or machines in both verbal or
non-verbal way. This is a relatively new model of communication for new
technologies like web.

ANSWER:
- During my early years of using Social Media, I tend to have weak passwords for most
of my accounts in order for them to be easily remembered and accessed. It is later
found out that one of my neighbours has leaked my password and put some
malicious contents on my accounts. Afterward, I change the password of every
account I have with much complexity, which is recommended according to the
standard. A strong password must be unique and complex, with at least ten
characters long and mixed letters, numbers, and symbols. Having this kind of
password currently helps me a lot to keep all of the personal information safe from
any hackers and online thieves.

What’s in
1. What are the 4 major fields of Anthropology?
o The 4 major subfields of anthropology are as follows:
Archaeological, cultural, biological, and linguistic anthropology.
3. How human cultural variation, social differences, social change, and political
identities affects culture?
o As a system of meaning and shared beliefs, culture provides a framework for
our behavioral and affective norms. Countless studies in cultural psychology
have examined the effect of culture on all aspects of our behaviour,
cognition, and emotion, delineating both differences and similarities across
populations.
2. Are these cultural traits unchangeable or subject to historical and social changes?
o All Cultures are inherently predisposed to change and, at the same time, to
resist change. There are dynamic processes operating that encourage the
acceptance of new ideas and things while there are others that encourage
changeless stability. It is likely that social and psychological chaos would
result if there were not the conservative forces resisting change. The
processes leading to change that occur as a result of contact between
societies are: diffusion, acculturation, and transculturation .
3. Do all Filipinos share the same traits? Why?
o No, Filipinos have different ways of thinking what the best thing to do.
PROCESS QUESTIONS:
1. How did you acquire your customs, beliefs and traditions that you are practicing
at home?
o These beliefs are part of our culture, for one derives their beliefs from the
influences of what their customs, traditions and culture have dictated to
explain certain phenomena or to scare people. Some are practiced primarily
because Filipinos believe that there is nothing to lose if they will comply with
these beliefs.
2. Having learned the concepts of culture. How do you explain the current
“addiction” of Filipinos to K PoP and Korean telenovelas? Why do you think
young Filipinos enjoy the more than Mexican telenovelos?
o The Korean industry became big because of promotion and beautiful concept
which is good. People have different taste on everything. We cannot blame
them for liking KPOP or watching KDrama. We should respect their taste on
music, as they respect your taste.

No one was spared from this chaos, and this terrible situation has highlighted every
country’s flaws, weaknesses, and desperation.
In the Philippines, most of the Filipinos have been caught in frustration and aggression.
Everyone was dragged in this tragic hole and we all have to deal with this in ways we are still
figuring out.
May we learn to truly understand that even in this crisis, we are still given the opportunity
to value what matters most. I believe that even in this unfortunate events, there lies a
beautiful purpose.

ACTIVITY 4 (PAGE 8)
ASSESSMENT
1. How do the energy systems work in our body?
o Energy is made up of carbohydrates, proteins and fats which are
broken down during digestion to become glucose, amino acids and
fatty acids respectively. These are then absorbed into the blood
cells where they become adenosine triphosphate (ATP) our body's
fuel.
o All of the energy systems work to generate ATP, or generate
molecules that will further drive ATP production, and also deal
with the hydrogen and heat that surfaces from such mechanisms.
There are three energy systems: the immediate energy system, the
glycolytic system, and the oxidative system.
