When the Devil Knocks: He brings doubt

Ephesians 6:12-14a
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
12 

against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present

darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 
We need to take up the full armor of God.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV)
10 
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of
God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

Belt of truth
Breastplate of righteousness
Feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
Shield of faith
Helmet of salvation
Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

It is important for us to be aware of how the enemy works.

We are not ignorant of how the enemy works.
We need to know how the enemy work. (tactics, techniques and plans)
It is important to know to wage the battle as like the scriptures tells us to fight and we
became stronger and effective if we are aware of how the enemies work.
We have an enemy, but we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.
We have an enemy but we also serve a great God and mighty God.
“Ignorance is a blessing”
Ex: Ignorance is for babies only. (Do not know yet the good and bad)
There are something that is not good that we are not aware.
Ex: Child poof all over the house
Ignorance is not blessing, Ignorance is a problem.
Like in Law: Ignorance of the law excuses no one.
As believers we can’t afford the ignorance of the devils schemes and we can’t afford the
work of the enemies and to pretend that he doesn’t exist or pretend that it doesn’t
matter, pretend like no spiritual battle, because we are in a battle.
If we live for Christ we are in a battle.
The bible said that we need to be strong in the Lord and;
Put on the full armor of God.
Tonight we will talk about the devils schemes
We will talk about Adam and Eve
The devils is a schemers that try to trip us up from what God would have for
us.
Try to trip us up from the purpose that God have for our lives.
Try to trip us up on how we view God.
That schemes never change.
1. Cause you to doubt God’s Word

Genesis 3:1 ESV

The Fall
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that
the LORD God had made.
Crafty-Deceitful
He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You]  shall not eat of any
tree in the garden’?”

Genesis 3:2-5 ESV

The Fall

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the

garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst
of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to
the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your
eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Actual word of God
Genesis 2:16-17
16 
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of
every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Enemy knows the word and he loves to twist it; and when he twist it
You think that you do something good.
He did in a way that felt positive.

Ex. Enemy twisting the word

Luke 4:9-11
9 
And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and
said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,
10 
For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you

     to guard you carefully;

11 
they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Jesus response with scriptures

Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

So we must also response with scriptures as Jesus did.

It is important for us a believer that we know the word of God in context.
So we always encourage everyone to read and medidate the word of God day and
night.

Joshua 1:8
8 
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do
according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Conclusion:
Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass
away.
 2. Cause you to doubt God’s character

Genesis 3:4

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God
knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil.”

Enemy try to make us doubt in God’s character because of our situation

Enemy: If God is good, then why? (Bad Situation) Give Ex.

Story of Job

Job 1:20-22

At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in

worship 21 and said:

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,

    and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
    may the name of the LORD be praised.”

In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Conclusion:
Numbers 23:19 (NIV)
19 
God is not human, that he should lie,
    not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
    Does he promise and not fulfill?
 3. Cause to doubt God’s authority

Genesis 3:6
6 
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing
to the eye, and also desirable  for gaining wisdom, she took some and
ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Enemy’s lie: You are the better master of your faith; and you know what is good
for you. (Hebrews 12:2) It is your life!

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us
throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily
entangles. And let us run  with perseverance  the race marked out for
us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus,  the pioneer  and perfecter of faith. For
the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at
the right hand of the throne of God.

Final Conclusion
Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and
18 

requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all

the Lord’s people.
