1. Guessing game: Play a video on sports and have pupils guess the sports.
2. Pre-teach vocabulary by showing flashcards.
Pre-lesson
3. Point to each one and say the words.
4. Have pupils listen and repeat after you.

5. Tell pupils they will read about three sports.


6. Put the pictures on the board and elicit what pupils already know about them.
7. Ask pupils to point to the appropriate picture as you play the CD.
Lesson delivery 8. Play CD track 59 and encourage pupils to shadow read.
9. Check detailed understanding by asking comprehension questions. (Assessment)(refer to TB pg 142 Act 1)
10. Pupils check their answers and respond to a gist question. (Assessment)
11. If time allows, ask pupils for their experiences and opinions of these three sports.

12. Review vocabulary by playing anagram with the pupils.
