SCHOOL SAFETY PLAN DUE TO EXTREME HEAT CONDITION AND OTHER
NATURAL CALAMITIES

Hot weather condition can have undesirable effect on pupils' learning and

development. Extreme heat can make our learners become uncomfortable,

dehydrated, and even fatigued, which can make it difficult for them to concentrate

and learn. Therefore, it's important for schools to have a safety plan to ensure that

pupils and staff can stay safe and comfortable during hot weather.

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 037, s. 2022, dated 01 September 2022 titled

“Guidelines on the Cancellation or Suspension of Classes and Work in Schools in

the Event of Natural Disasters, Power Outages/ Power Interruptions and Other

Calamities” and in relation to the announcement of the Philippine Atmospheric,

Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) last March 21,

2023, which marked the beginning of the warm and dry season in which warmer

temperature are expected, the department issued Regional Memorandum No. 225

s. 2023 titled “Implementation of Blended Learning Delivery Modality in School

affected by Extreme Climate Conditions”, Burol Elementary School through the

initiative of DRRM coordinator, Mrs. Geraldine Reyes with the assistance School

Head Mrs. Loida Amor V. Siscar developed a safety plan for school personnel and

learners to be prepared in times of disasters and calamities. This will safeguard

everyone by making our school DRRM ready, hazard-free, comfortable and safe

learning environment.
