TOPIC PLANNING A HOME BUDGET STEPS ● What is a home budget and its importance? Why do we need one? ● Collect data of income, expenditure and savings for your home for the month of April ● Categorize the raw data into expense heads. ● Depict the data using a pie chart and / or other graphical representations ● Inferences or conclusion along with an interview with parents to discuss the inferences and action points. PROJECT REPORT ● Cover Page ● Index ● Acknowledgement ● Topic Cover Page ● Project Write-up - There must be a write-up about the topic , data collected ( working sheets to be attached),analysis of data and your inferences or learning from the project. ● Bibliography ASSESSMENT - 10 MARKS Preparation ( content of written matter, data of everyday expenditure and categorization into expense heads) and following the timeline- 2 marks Concepts applied with working sheets- 2 marks Computation- 2 marks Presentation- 2 marks Inferences- 2 marks EXPECTED STATUS AS OF MAY 15 ● Maintain a working folder for Math Project ● In the KWL chart , fill the K - What I know , W - What I want to know sections and attach in the working folder ● Create a Cover page for the Math Project and one for the topic ● Acknowledgement ● Index Page - The contents will be populated at the end of task, the page with heading should be kept ready. ● Write-up should be ready. DATA COLLECTION ● Start collecting everyday expenditure at home from April 1 to May 1 , tabulate this under section heads like groceries, medicines and so on. ● Note these expenses on a daily basis for the month of April. ● Tabulate it under sections and calculate the overall income, expenditure and savings for the month of April. ● Fill the raw data of everyday expenditure and final table ( of income, expenditure and savings) in your working folder of project. WRITE-UP ON A HOME BUDGET ● What is a Home Budget and why is it important ? ● Is it required to have one? What will be the consequence if we do not have one? ● Define and explain the terms income, expenditure and savings briefly. Expected - Minimum 2 sides . Write in your own words with usage of keywords from resources. Do not blindly copy from websites and write it down. Note down the resources referred and enter the same in Bibliography at the end of the project report. Timelines - April 3 ● K W L Chart to be given for Home budget project.
