V. Rationale:
Emergency preparedness is an integral program of activities that
sought to ensure school safety and preparedness to create a safe
learning environment for the learners, teaching and non-teaching
personnel, and community. It is not limited to physical cleaning,
painting /repainting, and doing minor to medium repair activities but
combined with activities such as Student Led School Watching, Hazard
Mapping, and succeeded with the psychological First Aid and
Psychosocial Support activities as counterpart all throughout the
school year.
VI. Objectives:
This project aims to:
1. Improve students’ level of awareness on the potential hazards and
risks within and around schools;
2.Increase the participation of children in addressing potential
disasters by reducing vulnerabilities; and
3. Inculcate a culture of safety in the day-to-day experience of children
in school.
VII. TARGET BENEFICIARIES:
 SFNHS Learners
 All teaching and non-teaching staff and support personnel
 Parents and the community

X. EXPECTED OUTPUTS
• Upon the completion of the painted School ID on the roof of the main
building of the school and Sta. Fe National High School will be able to
create its Student-Led Watch who will initiate the student-led school
watching and hazard mapping as initial steps in engaging learners in
disaster preparedness and management. This activity will raise
awareness and equip learners with information and skills necessary
for addressing the impact of hazards. Through this activity, the
Department of Education (DepEd) creates an opportunity for learners
to understand their role in disaster risk reduction and management
(DRRM).
