1. State the importance of storing food safely.
2. Demonstrate the proper steps in storing food safely.
3. Serve/Prepare a meal from a guaranteed safe food storage.

2. Activity
- The teacher will show printed pictures of different kinds of food, the students will
identify where it should be stored inside the refrigerator or in the pantry.

3. Generalization

- Storing foods at cold temperatures slows the growth of microorganisms, thereby


limiting food poisoning while preserving food’s nutritional qualities and good taste.
- Proper food storage helps maintain food quality by retaining flavor, color, texture
and nutrients, while reducing the chance of contracting a food-borne illness.
- Failure to safely store food may cause bacteria in food to multiply and could result in
a foodborne illness if the food is consumed.
