GREETINGS TO THE
👋🏽
SKEP COMMUNITY!

Skep launched in November 2021, originally under the name of

CareerWize Foundation, with a focus on providing digital skills and

jobs to the rising tide of intelligent, capable, and tenacious individuals

spread throughout West Africa. Since then, it’s been a wonderful

journey watching the Skep community grow. With the addition of

each new individual, we become a stronger whole, more equipped to

tackle the mammoth problem of underemployment.

We’re committed to empowering Africans to secure global jobs and

we have our sights set on 2030 as the benchmark for Africa being

recognized internationally as a premier destination for outsourcing

digital work.

But we know we can’t do it alone. We’re glad you’re here!

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the tale of a start-up that went from three

people - two gentleman and one lady - to more than 3,000 individuals,

in one year. We’re excited to share the past year with you, and to

continuing growing with you!

SKEP FOUNDATION | 2022 IMPACT REPORT
OUR STORY
In 2020, Scot Hymas and his wife Jeralie were living in Accra, Ghana,

working with youth, ages 18-30. During their time there, they noticed a

widespread lack of employment and opportunity. This issue proved to

become the focus of their purpose there and their work upon returning

to the United States: How to drive jobs to Africa, and especially to the

youth population, at scale.

Several months before returning to the United States, Scot met Dave

Jensen, co-founder of CareerWize, a medical coding learning platform,

and founder of Aviacode, a medical coding, and billing technology-

enabled services company in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)

space. Dave assured Scot that if individuals could be trained as

proficient medical coders, he could find them employment. Thus began

Skep Foundation.

Since that time, Skep has grown to include new members and new

training opportunities, and Dave Jensen has created C360, an

organization designed to employ certified African medical coders.

THANK YOU

Working with our African friends fills us with a sense of

wonder, anticipation, and optimism. The barriers separating

Africa from the global economy are beginning to disappear

with each connection and each addition to the Skep family.

We're grateful to each of our friends across the way and are

honored to stand with them.

And so, with immense thanks to them, to you, and to all of

those we're privileged to work with, we bid you...
