Ukulele Chords – The Basics
Strings

To read a ukulele chord chart you


should imagine seeing a ukulele in
front of you whilst you are looking
at the fretboard.
Frets The strings are shown as vertical
lines
(G C E A strings) and the frets are
the horizontal lines.

Different chords are shown by


dots with numbers of your left
hand.

The little circle (o) at the top


means that you have to play that
strings open, so you don’t place a
finger on that string.
