5. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Problem Statement
Many students often complain about their difficulty in understanding the lesson because the teacher is
too fast in explaining the material, and they have difficulty dividing the time to write and listen to the
teacher's explanation at the same time, and when there is a teacher or lecturer who speaks in a
language that is difficult to understand such as the language of another country, students or students
have difficulty translating it when it is being explained.

Proposed Solution
The product we make will help students to take notes and translate explanations from teachers or
lecturers so that they can repeat the teacher's explanation using Retra pens, students or students can
use it outside of class hours and can easily take the essence of the explanation.

Value
Retra Pen is very easy to carry anywhere, especially for a student who will carry a pen while studying
and of course a pen will be needed. Not only among students and school children, Retra Pen can also be
used by teenagers and even workers or the whole community.

Retra pen can be a very helpful tool for workers, one of its functions is to translate foreign languages
quickly and easily, this is a practical tool to carry everywhere.

The recording feature makes one of the attractions of this product because many young people or
teenagers cannot repeat the explanation given by the teacher carefully, so they can use this Retra Pen.

7. THE FUNCTIONS OF RETRA PEN

Microphone:
This part will be used to record foreign language sounds and translate them into our desired language.

Motion Sensor:
The motion sensor will be used to activate the pen when in use, and prevent the pen from recording
sounds when not in use.

Hologram Emitters / Camera:

This section is used to display the translation results in the form of a hologram. The camera will record
the translated text which will then be displayed as a hologram. And Hologram emitters used to project
the translation in the form of a hologram. The projector will project a hologram of the translated text
which will appear in the air.

Processing Chip:
This part will be responsible for processing the recorded voice and translating it into the desired
language.

Screen and Button:

This screen is used to display the menu and settings of the smart pen, while the control buttons are
used to access the various features available on the pen.

Battery:
The battery will be the power source of the smart pen and ensure that the pen can be used for a
considerable period of time.

Speaker:
The speaker will be used to play the translation sound in the desired language.

8. DETAIL EXPLANATIONS’ ABOUT PROCESS.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pen Activation
First of all, the motion sensor on the pen will detect hand movements and activate the pen when in use.

Voice Recorder
When the pen is activated, the microphone on the pen will record the sound of the foreign language
spoken by the speaker.

Data Processing
After recording the sound, the processing chip on the pen will process the sound data and translate it
into the desired language. This data processing process requires an internet connection to access the
language translation database.

Hologram Display
Once the voice data is translated, the pen displays the translated result in the form of a hologram
through the camera on the pen.

Voice Translation
In addition to displaying the translation result in the form of a hologram, the translation sound in the
desired language will also be played through the speaker on the pen.

Data Storage
During data processing, the translation results will also be stored in the memory on the pen for future
use.

Pen Closure
Upon completion of use, the motion sensor on the pen will detect when there is no hand movement and
automatically shut down the pen.

VALUES OF THE FUNCTION.

This Retra pen can really help all people to quickly understand foreign languages that they don't
understand and can help students or anyone else listen to what they record from the pen at another
time.

The battery used can last up to approximately 5 years, depending on the use itself. This pen is also very
light and includes a small item that can be put in a pocket to carry anywhere.

8
ABILITY TO MEET USER REQUIREMENT.
This project is a new innovation in technology, especially in the field of language and communication.
The hologram-based translation pen will provide convenience and efficiency in communicating with
people from different countries, as well as make it easier for learners to save and listen back to recorded
materials. The hologram-based translator pen will be especially useful for those who often communicate
with people from different countries, such as Travellers, diplomats, foreign students, and foreign
workers, as well as students to quickly understand the material delivered by whoever they are recording.
Hologram-based translator pens can be used easily and effectively by anyone, even by people who are
not proficient in foreign languages, as well as for students to understand and hear back what they
record.

By using a hologram-based translator pen, the process of communicating with a foreign language will be
faster and more efficient, thus increasing productivity and effectiveness in communication. and can be
used as learning for those who want to learn a foreign language themselves.

Hologram-based translator pens will help strengthen relationships between people from different
countries, helping to improve quality of life and broaden perspectives.

In this project, we put forward the values of innovation, usability, convenience, productivity
enhancement and quality of life improvement to create a product that benefits society at large.
