Dear Respectable

How do you do Dr. Getaneh M. I am ok. Oh, I have been taking more time to select my coming
thesis title. Anyways, I have been selected my title right now, if you will have approved and
accepted it. I am waiting your permission.

Dr. I want to study my research on this issue. This tittle also matched with the study area. It is
very ok for me than other issues.

Section one
My prerequisite of a knowledge and experience about a research proposal is listed as follow. I
hope, it’s important for me and I can cross check myself before your coming presentation.

We make sure, our little information + Your nice presentation and advice = We will be Quite ok researchers
This format will be refine after your presentation about thesis common steps

I. Cover Page
 Tittle
 Department
 University Logs
 Advisor Name
 Summited Date
 University Name
 Name a researcher
II. Tittle page ( Optional)
III. List Of Acronyms
IV. List of Contents
V. List of Table (if there) because, here is proposal. From Main research is must be there
specially, quantitative and mixed research design.
VI. List of Picture ( if there) ….the above too.
CHAPTER ONE
1. Introduction
1.1. Background of the Study
According to my prerequisite of research knowledge, I will cover under this section listed as
follow.
 I will try to define the title and Concept
 Explain the magnitude of the problem in the world, Africa and Ethiopia
 Explain what is known about issue in the world, Africa and Ethiopia level
 Explain problem in relation to the title and study area
 Explain relevance organization report ¾ and recent study if there is a recent study in the
study area
1.1. Statement of the Problem

 Define statement of the problem

 Explain my motivation to will conduct in this study
 Explain the problem of my worries about the issue
 The difference of my proposed study from other recent studies done in my study area
 The gap and my motivation to will do it in area
1.2. Objectives of the Study
1.2.1. General Objective
1.2.2. Specific Objectives
1.3. Research Questions ( Leading questions)
1.4. Significance of the Study
 Explain significance of the research findings for community,
 Organization. Local government
 Country
 Researcher
 By giving further information
1.5. Scope of the Study(Delimitation of the study)
 Content
 Geographical delimitation
1.6. Limitation of the study
I won’t not be used the limitation of the study in my proposal. But if there is a problem
happened to implement all things based on a plan, I must be using it from the main research.
1.7. Organization of the Thesis
1.8. Operational Definition the key terms
CHAPTER TWO
2. Review Of Related Literature
 Definition and Concept
 Literature will be matched with the objective
 The source published within 5 years old
 Set issues as Global, African, Ethiopian, and local level.
 Different models or theories related to the issue
 Conceptual framework ( Qualitative design)
 Describe dependent and independent variables (Quantitative design) But I will try
employ quantitative research design. If STATA is ok for me.
 Mitigation Strategies or coping mechanisms

CHAPTER THREE
3. Methodologies
3.1. Description of the study area
I had been used the following information’s, When i studied my first degree in geography
and environmental studies. But i will try to selected information in this thesis after your
orientation.
 Physical location
 Relative Location of the study area
 Absolute location
 Land use
 Topography
 Climate
 Rain fall
 Temperature
 Demographic Characteristics
 Language and Religious
 Socio- economic Activities
 Education Service
 Transportation
 Water Source and supply
 Historical Development
3.2. Research Design

 Qualitative, quantitative, mixed

 I will try to justify my research design
3.3. Sample Size
We can determine our sample size based on different formula
I will try to use it formula
n= N/1+N(e)2
Where: n is the representative sample size,
N is total population or demography in the study area
e = is level of precision defined to determine the required sample size at 95% confidence
level. The value of e is = 0.155 up to 0.5.
3.4. Sampling techniques
 Probability sampling ( Equal chance)

Example: I can saying, the researcher will selected …….. Respondents by using
simple random sampling particularly lottery method,,,,,, or cluster, systematic,
stratified sampling way as well.
 Non probability sampling….
Those are quota, purposive, snowball or pyramiding way, But I am not
interesting to study qualitative study.
3.5. Data Collection Methods and Procedures
3.5.1. Primary Data Collection
3.5.2. Secondary Data Collection

3.6. Instrument of Data Collection

3.7. Data analysis and interpretation techniques
 Pre-Test or pilot ( If to be quantitative design)
3.8. Ensuring Data
3.9. Ethical Consideration
4. My Action or work plan
5. Budget/Coast break down/
6. References
7. Appendices
7.1. Appendix 1…….
7.2. Appendix 2………
7.3. Appendix 3…….
8. Other recorded data
If a study needs registered data from an organization (in different time), The researcher (I) will
have attached it based on a situation.

 My Interesting
 My background
 To use resource wisely
 I hope, it is relevant for Government and people
 It is thrust not good opportunities in Sekota right now.
 It will be Measurable and Time-Bound for me in my study area.

Thank you for your valuable time Dr.
