Reason: Wire harness in steer column may contact and/or be tie strapped
incorrectly.
Technical Description:
The wire harness in the steer column (580097221) may contact the linkage when adjusting the height
of the steering column. This can lead to damage of the harness and can cause short circuits.

Wire harness in steer column may also be tie strapped incorrectly. Tie strap may cut into loom and
cause short circuits.
This harness contains wires to the transmission lever, turn signals, horn, and master warning so you
may experience issues with any of these components. Refer to the photos below for additional detail
regarding potential contact between the harness and linkage.
Remove the RH cover to inspect the routing of the wiring. Check if the harness is mounted with the
below routing viewed from the RH side.
Check that the wires are bent away so it cannot touch the mechanism. You can check this by
releasing the steering lock and moving the steering column forwards and backwards to maximum
positions.
When interference has been detected remove the LH cover as well to adjust routing.
