SUBJECT: Squealing Tilt Lock Valves or Uneven Mast Movement

MODELS AFFECTED: H165-280XL2 (E007), H170/280HD (F007), H170-280HD (G007),

H300-360XL2 (D019), H300/360HD (E019), H300-360HD (F019

DESCRIPTION:
If your customer’s truck experiences a squealing noise in the tilt lock valve or uneven movement
(racking) of the mast, the cause is a defective tilt lock valve and a field modification has been
developed. Please order the parts listed below from the parts Distribution Center in Danville, IL and
follow the instructions below for installation.

Warning: Make sure that the hydraulic system is not under any pressure before removing
parts. Refer to the proper Service Manual for instructions.

Parts Replacement Right hand tilt cylinder shown

Remove the tilt lock valves (black casted
housing – part number 1346421) and all
fittings (222456 & 1488773) from the tilt
cylinder and hoses. Discard these items.

• Install fitting - 1483887 - on the cylinder.

•
• Connect the valve - 1564349 - to this fitting
•
• Install fitting - 1336112 - on the hose and
connect the fitting to the valve as shown
