SUBJECT: Unexplained hydraulic system issues caused by the LS control unit of Sauer
Danfoss pumps.
DESCRIPTION: This gram provides instructions to check the load sense valve for incorrect
installation of the hose fitting and to check for internal damage. It is possible that during truck
assembly or repair in the field, the fitting in the LS port of the pump may be threaded in too deeply.
This can clamp the LS spring in the LS bore and cause a malfunction of the LS control. Symptoms
may include low brake pressure, slow mast lower and tilt shake.
If issues in the hydraulic system are occurring as described above: Check and adjust the fitting. The
fitting should not be threaded in deeper than 10mm. A depth between 9 and 10mm is
recommended. If problem persists, inspect the valve chamber. Small burrs can be removed and
contamination can be cleaned. With severe damage the parts must be replaced.
The load sense valve is located on the Dismantle the load sense valve to obtain a
variable displacement pump clear indication of the fitting threaded into
the side of the LS bore
