Today’s world is completely different from whatever people have ever witnessed before.

Thanks to many factors and one of them is the internet. It is actually

considered the main factor for the huge changes we see today globally, and just like everything else, it has advantages and disadvantages.

Demolishing the communication gap is one of the greatest advantages when we talk about what the internet has achieved. For the first time in the history the
world is a small village or we may say one community where people from different spots have the ability to exchange experiences and deal directly with each
other without moving one inch from home. Economically, the world has benefited from this progress. Most of us agree with the need for this extraordinary
mean of communication to submit transactions and deals all over the world. Enormous companies have grown to exceed the total income of seven or eight
countries all together at the same time. Such advancements and changes in most aspects of life could never have existed without the internet.

On the other side, as we mentioned before, nothing is perfect. Despite the tremendous achievements of the internet, but it has several disadvantages. It
demolished the gap of communication globally to create a bigger one inside most families. People waste most of their time using the internet for
entertainment neglecting their social surrounding causing dangerous problems. Family members rarely sit together and talk. Parents are busy most of the
time which affects their role as educators and guardians. The internet allowed everyone in the world to have their own stage with no control or guidance over
what they present to our kids.

In conclusion, I think we really need to value the potentials offered by the internet and try to deal in an effective way with its disadvantages which I call side
effects that can be handled with guidance and raising families’ awareness towards the importance of strengthening their ties at home.
