ORIENTATION EXAM IN EDTECH 2

1. What is the significance in education of computer literacy in the new normal scenario?

 It is really important as a teacher to be computer literate especially now that we are in a new
normal set up of education. An upgraded Teachers computer literacy is where we should be in
order to respond to the transformation of national and global socioeconomic education, especially in
the attainment of online education here in the Philippines. What pathways should we then walk, in
order to attain this? It is important to equip the teachers with the right skills and knowledge to
perform maximally in the classrooms and this is why we are attending seminars, workshops and
other related conference pertaining to new set up of education.

2. Cite at least 3 media platforms that are considered effective in the teaching-learning process? Concretize
your answer.

Connecting with each other comes to us more easily now that we can just tap away on a keyboard
and chat with a person who lives over 3000 miles away. Finding information knows no boundaries with
Google on every computer in the world. As educators, this means access to more, faster, which is thrilling
and mindboggling. However, it can also be frustrating and confusing with so much to choose from. How do
you know which platform is the best for your goals? Which social media organization has the best
resources and community? Which one would help you communicate better with your students?

 YouTube - Educators of any level can click on the education category within YouTube and find
several subcategories such as education, science, business, and engineering. YouTube even has a
special section dedicated to teachers and how to teach with it. But, even if teachers never visited that
section, they could teach using all the great videos available according to subjects or searches.
 Facebook - The great part about Facebook is that everyone is on it. Students love connecting with
their friends and family with Facebook so telling them to check out the page where you post only
makes sense. However, it’s very important to stay professional and have a separate personal
account.
 Zoom/Google Meet – This application is one interactive social media platform in which teachers
are using to teach and give definite instructions to their students. By the use of this we can
interact with each other to have a better understanding of the lesson.

3. As a future Educator, what is your personal initiative in order to acquire the much-needed skills in
imparting knowledge?

Our world faces unavoidable circumstances that demands next generation of graduates be
capable of being a leader with expansive understanding public life, honed skills of critical
thinking, and the abilities to collaborate with diverse individual. In order to acquire the skills for
an effective and efficient teacher we need to consider the following;
1. Build Self – Confidence – in order to teach efficiently and effectively with others.
2. Sense Check ideas – be adaptive and creative for your learners to enjoy your class.
3. Find Balance – while it is important to take initiative, we need to balanced the things we are
doing.

We need to be responsible enough on the things we take into action, for in every action taken
there will be result either good or bad, we need to take it as a constructive criticism.
