Transformative Leadership Approach

Transformative leadership is a kind of leadership style that inspires positive changes in

followers. This approach mostly relies on motivating and encouraging followers to be involved

in molding a successful future for a business or organization (Caldwell, 2012). Transformative

leaders can make a dramatic shift in an organization. Today, more companies are embracing

transformative leadership as a way of achieving higher performance or successes levels. This

approach can also be incorporated in HEYTEA business in order to achieve higher success

levels. HEYTEA is one of China’s most known tea brand that started back in the year 2012.

HEYTEA being the original creators of the famous cheese tea, it has been able to gain fame all

over the world. This is a business that has already grown; however, there is always room for

other strategies that will bring success to the business.

It is pretty much obvious that HEYTEA aims at satisfying the customers. The business

uses ingredients of quality and high standards to make a customers’ cup of tea. It is my believe

HEYTEA business would be able to achieve sustainable successes if it was equipped with more

transformational leaders. With a transformative CEO, the business would welcome change and

innovation. A transformative leader will find some of the convenient places where the tea brands

will be enjoyed and celebrated. In addition to that, a transformative leader will make HEYTEA

employees shareholders of the business (Oreg, 2011). This makes them feel like they belong and

matter, thus working beyond their expectations. A transformative HEYTEA CEO will know that

satisfied and motivated employees will help the business reach massive successes. A

transformative leader will reward the shareholders (employees) for doing more than they are

expected to.

A transformative leader in HEYTEA will strive to provide the shareholders with a

healthy working environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Happy

shareholders mean happy customers thus sustainable success. A transformative CEO in

HEYTEA will not be satisfied with the being known for having the best cheese tea. He/she

should keep pursuing the best tea brands by expanding regions where they get raw ingredients.

Also, he/she will strive to have new ways of making new different tea brands.

Different types of controls

Starting and growing any business takes so much work, effort, and dedication. However,

staying in business is another a different story altogether. HEYTEA is a business with several

outlets in different cities. It has managed to stay in business for more than five years now. With a

competitive and difficult market today, HEYTEA needs to have effective controls in place to be

able to achieve sustainable success. Most importantly, controls will help HEYTEA ensure that

set goals and objectives are met (Reider, 2008).

HEYTEA is a business that highly values the quality of services it offers to its customers.

Therefore, employing different controls like concurrent, preventive, and feedback controls would

help the business achieve massive success (Sharma, n.d.). With concurrent controls in place,

HEYTEA will be in a position to monitor its employee activities, thus ensuring stability in

quality standards. These controls ensure that duties or tasks produce desired results. The

feedback controls will allow HEYTEA to review the information to determine if its performance

levels are meeting the set standards. For instance, if HEYTEA wants to increase its profits by 10

percent next year, the business needs to monitor the profits it gets every month. If after two

months the gains will have increased by two percent, then the management can consider the

plans to be working as they should. HEYTEA can employ preventive controls in order to

identify as well as prevent any deviations in the set standards before would take place.

Preventive controls will mainly focus on material, human as well as financial resources within

the business. These controls will mostly be applicable when HEYTEA is selecting and hiring

new employees. The business has to select and shire employees who possess the necessary skills

that are required in the job. HEYTEA management should use tests as well as other screening

techniques to hire employees with the kind of skills they need. Since HEYTEA is popularly

known for its cheese tea, it needs to hire an employee who is familiar with the business and with

skills to make that tea and others too. By doing this, the business will be able to maintain the

quality of services it offers to its customers hence achieving sustainable success.
