Wireline:

- Wireline is a cable that has many purposes and differentiate by its material
- Wireline consist of 3 types based on material that use, which would be multi-
conductor, single conductor, and slick line cable.
- Wireline is use as a "medium" to do the data acquisition process which the data
could be identify as subsurface petrophysical or geophysical data.
- In addition Wireline can be use as a means to acquisize the delivery of well
construction services such as pipe recovery, perforating, plug setting, and well
cleaning and fishing.
- Data acquires from the wirline logging activity would be:
1. Hydrocarbon presence and saturation
2. Electrical sensitivity
3. Natural gamma radiation
4. Sonic velocity
5. density of rock formation
6. Formation's porosity
7. Formation's permeability
8. Formation's fluid saturation
9. Formation's lithology
- Basically the use of wirline is to do the data acquisition process on the
existing subsurface and wellbore condition while the condition would determine the
potential productivity of the further drilling and production operations.
- The data collected can be used for variety of purposes, such as:
1. Reservoir characterization:
Determining the distribution of oil and gas in the subsurface and
characterizing the reservoir rock and fluid properties.
2. Drill stem testing:
Performing short-term tests to evaluate the potential productivity of a
well or a reservoir.
3. Production logging:
Monitoring the performance of a producing well, including fluid production
rates and identifying potential problems such as water or gas coning.
4. Casing and cement evaluation:
Checking the integrity of the well casing and cement, which are critical to
ensuring the long-term stability of the well.
5. Formation evaluation:
Determining the presence of hydrocarbons, the type and quality of the
reservoir rock, and the depth and thickness of the pay zone.

[1] Reservoir Characteristic that should be paid attention to are listed below:
1. Porosity:
A measure of the void space in the rock, which can affect the storage
capacity and fluid flow in the reservoir. (units in percentage)

2. Permeability:
A measure of the ability of fluid to flow through the rock, which can
affect the productivity of the well. (units in miliDarcies (MD) or Darcies (D),
measure the ease of fluid flow thorugh the rock)

3. Fluid saturation:
A measure of the amount of fluid in the pores of the rock, including oil,
gas, and water. (units in perecentage of the pore occupied by fluid)

4. Lithology:
A characterization of the rock type and structure, which can affect the
porosity and permeability of the reservoir.
Lithology is typically described in qualitative terms, such as sandstone,
shale, or limestone, or in quantitative terms using log data such as bulk density
or sonic velocity.
5. Hydrocarbon saturation:
A measure of the amount of oil and gas in the reservoir, which can be used
to evaluate the potential productivity of the well. (units in percentage of the
pore space occupied by oil and gas)

6. Pay thickness:
A measure of the thickness of the productive layer in the reservoir, which
can affect the size and potential production of the well. (units in feet or meters)

7. Rock and fluid properties:

Information on the specific gravity, resistivity, and other properties of
the rock and fluid in the reservoir, which can affect the fluid flow and production
potential of the well. (units in ohm-m or g/cc)

- In the reservoir characterization domain, we have introduced a connected and

intelligent wireline formation testing platform—the industry’s first integration of
downhole hardware and cloud native software—that delivers a step change in
reservoir evaluation. Intelligent planning enables “look ahead” during operations,
while real-time operations control utilizes edge technologies and automation for
continuous quality control and high-precision fluid sampling and analysis.
Contextual insights provide detailed 2D and 3D visualizations on interactive
dashboards to assist in making informed decisions

- Based on the previous slide, we knew that the use of wireline would benefitting
in terms of speed, time, and lower equipment setup complexity.
- In addition, the use of wireline is to acquisize data using logging equipment
which divided into 3 types of services.
1. Production services
2. Cement-bond services
3. Perforation services
These 3 services have it's own use of logging equipment, yet generally the use
wireline is to detect and monitor parameters related towards the well and resorvoir
condition, such as monitoring well productivity, detect fluid leakage, determine
perforation hole area, and executing perforation process.
- However, there is still room from improvement which triggered by the latest
technologies and most importantly the demand uprising in order to compete with
competitors.
- SLB as company have been ahead by developing digitized wireline technologies
since the past. As it seen in one of its flagship product, LIVE digital slikcline
wireline. This product combined data integration as well edge computing and IIoT in
order to seamlessly acquisize data in real-time while at the same time provide two-
way communication between control room and the wireline. This also amplified by
integrating such product with DELFI and OSDU to get better insight and
understanding upon well and reservoir condition
- In addition the use of digitalization live performance service also integrated
with DELFI as the decision-making platform which resulting such data as followin
